Hey All I havent made a figure in as long as i can remember, due to being so busy at University. But ive finished for summer now and this one has been calling out to me. SO ive started work on it. You could say this is a "sequel" to my 12" Death Scene Gift Buffy statue. I know this isnt the most...practical way to show my work, but ive decided to post the base first and then show the figure in a few days when its completed. The base is made from astro turf (plastic grass) the gravestone was made from wood, textured and painted and the base around the grass is also wood, finished in the same way. I will be showing the finished figure in a day or so. Id love to know what you think of the base. Wayne

Hey All Ive finished sculpting Buffy and shes going to be painted today. I sculpted her coming out of the grave, grabbing the grass in her fists (there will be longer bits of grass coming out of her fists) and i gave her long messy hair. she will also have a cross necklace dangling down from her neck but here she is, id love to know what you guys think Wayne

That is a thing of beauty... the sculpt is pretty amazing. The hair especially... that's some good-looking tangled, matted up hair. Did you sculpt her mostly from scratch, or were you able to find parts that just needed minimal tweaking?

Wow this is one super sculpture, she looks amazing and I agree with wenxina that the hair especially looks great. I can't wait to see the finished article

This looks amazing. I think I would have gone for a base with just grass plus headstone without the surounding stone, but I can't deny that this is gorgeous.
Good look pulling of the hair color. I mean, I think it seems likely you'll either a)make it like in the episode, which was hideous, worst wig ever, or b)you make it looks great, which is unlikely to look like in the episode.

thanks guys! Erm, i used a sideshow body, cut the legs off and sculpted over that. i did contemplate sculpting from scratch, but it adds more weight to the piece, which could make shipping a problem later. And thanks Skytte! The reason i added the "stone" outer ring thing, is because the grass was flimsey. the had no backing. So to add strength, i added the outer stone thing. she will be finsihed tonight, so photos will be up Wayne

Hey guys Ive finished Buffy. shes been really hard to photograph, i think the strong light isnt helping, so i will try and get some new ones later. But here she is I painted her looking very worried and scared. and gave her bloody knuckles and dirt on her clothes and face... Id love to know what you think. she will be on ebay in the next few days Wayne

If there was such a thing as perfection, this would probably be one of the examples. I can't get over the face... how it's so perfectly painted. You have a knack for painting skin tones so well; it never looks flat the way a lot of toys and models usually do. The dirt on the face, hair, and clothing is impeccable. And, btw, the hair... that's a crazy good job. Of your previous Buffyverse works (that I'm aware of), this comes in second after your "Faith drowning Buffy" piece... Great job. Hope the bidding reflects your hard work.
