 Stephen King
« Thread Started on May 28, 2008, 12:50pm »

His name came up in the chatbox a couple of nights ago, so I know we've got at least a couple of fans here. Anyone else?

My favorites:
1 - "The Stand"
2 - "The Dark Tower" series (esp. "The Waste Lands" & "Wizard and Glass")
3 - "It"
4 - "The Green Mile"
5 - "Eyes of the Dragon"

(I thought about making this a poll of "What Are Your Favorite Stephen King Books?", with like three titles and "books not listed" as the four options, since that's apparently the cool new way of doing polls around here, but at the last-minute decided against it. :P ;) )

I've always been a fan of Stephen King as well. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to read many of his books yet.

I have enjoyed these though:

-The Green Mile
-The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
-Pet Cemetery

I started out reading Stephen King books in 5th or 6th grade. Maybe that's why i turned out like i did hahaha. I'm a huge fan. My favorites are
1. Pet Cemetery
2. Eyes of the Dragon
3. The Shining
4. The Stand ( i will never forget reading that for the first time, i was home sick from school with strep throat and really got into the book because it felt like i actually had Captain Tripps haha)
5. The Cell
6. Bag of Bones
7. Four Past Midnight
8. Night Shift
9. Insomnia
10. It
The only books i haven't read by him are the Dark Tower series, and i was trying to wait to see if he would ever finish them all.

In general, I'm not a huge fan of his work. However, the Dark Tower series may very well be my favorite book series.

Obsessed with King.

Bag of Bones is one of my favourite books of all time.

And then theres the obvious ones such as The Shining and The Stand.

Although was anybody else really annoyed by the ending of The Stand...Anticlimax if you ask me.

Dreamcatcher and TommyKnockers are my other two favourites.

The Dark Tower books have always been my favs. I started Reading them about six years ago.
I was really taken in by Roland, the main character. To this day he is still my favirote character out of all media, next to Angel and Drizzt Do'Urden.

Also the very ending of the last book is so heartbreaking.

I loved It and The Stand, but found The Shining a slog. Prefer Kubrick's movie myself!

The first Stephen King book I read was "Gerald's Game" and I still think it's absolutely terrifying!
