Discuss the last movie you watched, either at home, or in the theater.
The last movie I watched was The Golden Compass. This is about the 3rd time I've seen it. I do love it. I know it was based on a book series, but does anyone know when/if they plan on making the rest of them? The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger.

Walk The Line! Super good. I also watched bits and pieces of Moulin Rouge a few days ago (one of my favorite movies evarrr).
And for the record Jsebold, you should read the His Dark Materials trilogy (if you haven't already). They're SUPER insanely good, and pwn the movie.

I doubt they are going to make anymore, because the first one tanked and almost ruined New Line Cinema. I am a massive fan of the books and would say that "Northern Lights" as a book is a far more effectively told tale than the film. I thought the film was cast well, but just rushed - it bolted through that story without taking a moment's breath. A few minutes extra in each scene just to let things sink in would have aided it wonders in my opinion.
The last film I saw was "In the Shadow of the Moon". It's a documentary made to celebrate 40 years since the first moon landing. It uses only interview footage from the surviving Apollo astronauts and lots of previously un-released NASA footage of the landings themselves. It was pretty awesome to see that footage and the astronauts talk more about the experience they had than focussing on technical issues, which gives it a very humanistic feel. Definitely worth a watch with some mind-boggling visuals at times!

District 9. It was good, but I didn't think it was incredible. My brother called up beforehand and was raving about it, and my sister's fiance loved it too, and then I just expected to love it, and it fell a bit short. Wikus frustrated me a bit.

The Hangover. It was really good. I don't believe I ever laughed so hard when watching a movie. 10/10.

Just finished Starship Troopers.
Terribly underrated movie. Amazing action, amazing effects, and amazing political satire. A great amount of character development too. It needs more love.

I agree, and also love that movie! Caspar Van Dien FTW!
Last movie I watched was "Tropic Thunder". It had some outstanding moments (especially from Tom Cruise and Nick Nolte) but I did feel that it descended into cliche and became very predictable and less funny as the film wound to a close.

haha, yes, the Unborn really does suck.
Drag Me To Hell put that film to shame when it came out! Both had the same sort of plot, cursed girl, exorcism at the end etc...but obviously Raimi just kicks Goyers arse.

Completely agree on the Unborn. Very predictable movie.
Last movie I watched was Jane Goodall: Reason for Hope. I really find her fascinating, I've seen pretty much all of the documentaries that are available on her.
