Having traveled from her base in Scotland, Buffy ventures to the heart of Japan in order to reclaim her stolen scythe, in Drew Goddard's conclusion to Wolves at the Gate. Along the way, Buffy and the legion of Slayers join forces with the irresistible Dracula to defeat a tight-nit group of nefarious vampires, in which the Slayers suffer a massive hit.

The celebrated Buffy Season Eight continues with Joss Whedon as executive producer, with Georges Jeanty as series artist, and Jon Foster on covers. Written by acclaimed television scribe Drew Goddard.

I like Satsu, and hope she stays around. She is a very interesting character to me...and I hope to learn more about her!

This is easily my favorite variant cover. They just keep getting better and better. I love how all the characters featured. So Drac's fighting on the home team? That should be interesting to see. I'm also excited to see more Andrew and Renee.

What a beautiful cover. I knew who all the characters were by just looking at them which just goes to show that Georges is doing a fantastic job! Dracula on the scoobies side? It'll be interesting to see how that comes about. Also, it looks like they're about to go into battle (with the Scythe! :D) so someone is bound to bite the dust at the end of this arc.

this is blates going to be the best arc so far...boy im excited...Iv found seaosn 8 to be lagging a bit at the moment. Wasnt impressed with issue 10 at all...Im thinking wolves at the gate will make me love season 8 all over again. :ecstatic:

They don't look very "battle ready" to me. They are all standing in fairly nutral stancese with mild experessions on their faces. Xander even looks to have a bit of smile on his face.

Isn't it good that Buffy has a quantifiable amount of queers to speak of? Well, there's Torchwood, but when every character is bi it's too much.

Somebody else made the point of Buffy being in the middle, and there's her Satsu subplot. If this were intentional, it would be saying that Drac is the paragon of all things straight and woman-loving, with Xander being straight with a dash of gay thrown in to confuse us. At the far right, we have Willow being a lesbian who may or may not have some degree of bisexual tendency, with out to-the-queer-side bi boy Andrew just before her.

Of course, it's probably not intentional in the slightest.

So at least Buffy survives her run in with Twilight or whoever in A Beautiful Sunset. And glad to see that Willow's back with the gang. I wonder what the hell Andrew is doind there? And why is Dracula on the good side?
