I find this one hard to reconcile. She may be a very ferocious vampire, but she's only one woman. Did all of the people in the hospital just sit there and wait for Dru to come around and tear them apart, one by one? After the first couple, wouldn't the rest have... run away, or something?

Also, after wading through all that carnage... it was Dru's vamp face that prompted the doctors to flee?

I'm really thinking the carnage was in her mind. The doctors didn't seem to recognize or acknowledge it at all, and they were still calmly trying to deal with Dru as a regular patient.

(Sidebar: How could she be an inpatient in a hospital and not have anybody know she's a vampire. I can't stress it enough... no pulse. None.)

I agree with the rest of it.

I also find it hard to believe that nobody knows she's a vampire, But the security guard knew right? she was talking to someone about cleaning up Dru’s mess (#24).

She's not just a ferocious vampire, she's Drusilla. One of the Fanged Four, a legend. It's possible people couldn't get away (it's a mental hosptial, maybe the security bit them in the ass) or maybe she was just so fast they didn't see her coming. See how gracefully she kills everyone in #24.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I still think the massacre was real. The story starts one hour after #24, what was Drusilla doing in that time if not killing everyone? What were the staff doing, just letting her wander around? And yeah, the vamp face would be pretty scary to the doctors, because suddenly they're in immediate danger. The only thing that's hard to reconcile is the doctors standing around delivering their psychological theories in a bloodbath. However, it's possible they knew who Drusilla was and were prepared for such a situation. In #24, it's implied there was a cover-up happening, with clean-up crews taking care of Drusilla's mess. Dr. Gray knew more than he was letting on. I dunno, the whole thing needs a thorough re-read when I'm more awake. :P

As for people not knowing she's a vampire... this is the Buffyverse we're talking about. People are dumb. Besides, if you met someone with no pulse, would you assume they're a vampire or that they just had a weird medical condition? In Being Human, Merrick the vampire has to go to hospital. The staff are freaked out by his lack of a pulse, but they keep treating him because what else are they supposed to do? He's a patient, it's their duty to help him even if he is a freak.

Well... when they die-die, they don't get up again. Unless they're resurrected in some way.

So when time was reset, where would Drusilla be? Still laying on the floor? I am guessing that she would have then escaped afterwards.

My fave part of this issue was the end that gave us a glimpse of who Drusilla was before she became a vampire. Loved the last panel of her with the doll. Interesting to see that her love of dolls transferred over into her vamp persona, although in a more twisted and perverse way. Nice bit of continuity there. Can't wait for the next issue.

The answers to all these questions are in the book. Read it again, think about it.
Juliet was very meticulous with the planning. It all pays off. It's not spelled out, but it's all in there.

Dude, I read 'em seven times so far. I have yet to find any answers. Maybe I don't have the mental capacity. lol. [image]

The mob included the chaos demon, the anointed one and that one vamp that used to work for her and spike. So we can assume that these are all people from her past, maybe even all the people that deaths are at least partly on her hands.

As for the levitation, i took it as having something to do with the fact that reality in being opened into a hell dimension, or possibly having to do with Dru's powers becoming more powerful(which i kinda doubt that one).

And I am hopping that this is not the last we see of her, cause i saw this as part character development but more so as just finally fleshing out the character, I see her in an entirely different light now. And i also seriously need to know whats going on with whoever was doing the "cleanup" and all of that.

I am considering using this arc to get my girlfriend into the angel comic serious, its beautiful story wise/ artistically, and short enough where you dont have to remember 16 issues of material :)

Much love twords Brian + Juliet <3

EDIT: And that close up on Dru's face when she firsts starts drawing, OMG, so beautiful

Not a lot of dialogue or story, but I love the artwork. And Juilet's comments and the photo's included are great bonuses and makes it feel even more so worth the buy. So I'm happy with the Drusilla two part story, even if it was short on story. Slightly confusing at points however, but maybe it's supposed to be up for interpretation.

I agree with you 100%, Ben. I just read this twice... And I have no idea what just happened. [image]

The art looked good, and Drusilla sounded in character... That was all that I really 'got' from this. I have so many questions, it is not even funny. :/

Okay, now that this issue has been out for a year, I wonder if anyone has come up with any explanation of what really happened. Lynch seemed to think the climax was easy to figure out, but to this day, I have NO IDEA what to make of the ending. Thoughts?

Agree. Still confused as to why Dru was hovering and why a bunch of people suddenly popped up, and why they attacked her, and why she would warn the workers to run... And if she was really just seeing HellA as her home in the ending.
