So im sure she just picked who she felt like putting on there, so im sure Willow and Dawn were on that longer list. Does she even have insight to the story past what Joss has her make?

According to Scott, she knows the story through to the end.

I just wonder if Willow was even on the "longer list of characters" she was given to choose from.

Wow. Apart from Faith, the likenesses are really, really good. It's a beautiful cover.

I do think it would be cool though, to have an image of the whole S8 main cast, not neccessairily on this cover though. It would basically be this, with Willow, Dawn and maybe Andrew I think...

I actually think the likenesses are a bit off, especially around the eyes. Buffy and Xander's eyes just seem off. Xander's forehead is too square. Nitpicking, I know. But with photorealistic art it's all I seem to notice. The ways it's off. Faith, here, too - the eyes are too small. It also doesn't help that Buffy's eyes look brown here. There's other parts here that are just perfect renditions - Buffy's lips, for example.

But when looking at a drawing, the first thing you go for is the eyes. So Buffy's eyes and Xander's looking off is disconcerting.

Kennedy's probably the best likeness for me. Mostly because I'm so picky about Buffy art.

It's a really beautiful cover! Just jars me slightly mostly around the eyes.

This really is a great cover. Love the entire concept, especially the Twilight background. The likenesses aren't perfect, but it is cool seeing a big group of characters. Probably my third favorite TPB cover.

I think they should have added Dawn in somewhere, or replaced someone with her. She hasn't been on any TPB covers yet, and she is a main.

I think Dawn should have been on it and NOT Kenn-doll. I don't have a problem with Kennedy per se, but I would have rather seen Dawn grace a TPB cover!

Oz and Kennedy look good. Satsu is hard to comment on, since her character design is entirely original. Everyone else looks mildly off... but I have to say that Buffy is probably the worst one, considering that she's the focus of the piece.

first thoughts:

wow.
is that cordelia?... wait no that's kennedy.
the tpb covers get more and more amazing.

second thoughts of the character's likenesses:

Buffy: not too bad, though it does look she's much younger than she actually is.
Giles: pretty good.
Oz: best of them all. looks exactly like Seth Green
Kennedy: good, but the nose is pointier than Iyari Limon's.
Satsu: i wish she were in the series... that way i could make an accurate comment, but the art is amazing.
Faith: looks a lot like Kim Delaney... like if she and Eliza had an illegitimate child, that would be it.
Xaner: looks a lot like Nick Brendon from the nose up. the chin is more defined in the art than Nick's, but other than that, absolutely accurate on all accounts!

I'm not too picky about likenesses. If I can tell who it is, then the artist got the job done. However, I think the likenesses are spot-on this time around, so I don't get the off-comments. I mean, I could tell who was who by looking at the LO-RES version, that's gotta say something about Chen's skill.

Wow wow wow Jo Chen just keeps on being a rock star!
Her artwork is incredible, and its an interesting choice of who came on the cover but I think there's logic behind it.
Everyone who is in this pic are probably the ones who would be with Buffy out on the battlefield, the ones who are physically backing her up.
Dawn was never really much of a fighter at all so I guess she wouldn't be there and as for Willow, I think her time to shine will come sooner on. The time of your life ar i think just gave a hint of whats to come with Will, so she'll probably get more cover room later. Also, I think she would be helping Buffy in the battle from maybe another area other than the battlefield.
