yeah over the last month there have been alot of great threads to post in lol and compared to some people on this site i feel like i hardly post at all there posting like 200 posts in about a week :) im just trying to keep up ;) andi only just relised how we took the thread over

Found this on someone's LJ while looking for Batsu fanfic, pretty interesting:

"So what are we going to call Buffy/Satsu now? “Batsu” seems to be the most popular contraction, but my friend says it means “wrong” in Japanese. Alternately, it can also mean “punishment”. Wow that is a weird sign. I don't think it's wrong though. :)Saffy's cool though. Batsu is popular though lol. And some who don't like the idea of Buffy/Satsu will probably now want to refer to it as Batsu even more because it means wrong.

Batsu reminds me of the word "butch" , saffy on the other hand is kinda cute :P and a bit more appropriate especially if you consider the way their affair was presented (pink sheets, pig on the floor etc) .

I prefer Batsu ;) If it does indeed mean wrong, it's a good name to call them that as they are wrong for eachother.

How do you define wrong? If you mean the fact that Buffy is probably using Satsu then i quite agree with you other than that I think they're kinda cute so Saffy it is then :P

I think it was so stupid. I thought it was stupid when I saw that it was a true love kiss in Long Way Home, and you knew it was going to be a girl to kiss her. I thought it was lame! Bad choise that Joss did, I think.

Don't be so bigoted, VampSlayer. Buffys at the point where she doesn't know what she want's and the only way for her to find out what she wants is to screw Satsu.

This is my second post here at the forums and I’m going to take a chance and sound exactly like the social leper I am. I’m one of the few, the loathed, the social pariahs—I’m a Wiffy shipper. Well, to be absolutely accurate I’m not so much a shipper as an author who saw great value and potential in the pairing. They are marvelous characters to write together. There’s the ship. Period, end of sentence.

The question is: Buffy/ Satsu is it good or bad.

My answer as one of the ones you love to hate: it’s good, but—

The ‘but’ is tricky. I think it was a good thing in general for Joss to allow the series heroine to take a tumble in the sack with someone of the same gender. She openly flirted with Willow and Faith. If you missed the subtext, I’m really sorry. It was there. Joss wanted to leave the board open to allow for the development of whatever relationships he saw fit.

The bad comes in when the fandom starts shaking pitchforks. The Bangels and the Spuffys threw a fit. They’re still open attacks going on over it on forums across the fandom. Homophobia runs rampant. I tried to look at the Buffyforums just to see what the issue was like right after it came out. By page three of the forum I hit the word, ‘faggot’ and closed the window in disgust.

How people can get so wrapped up in a teenage soap opera is beyond me, but they do. Joss came out in an interview and said, “We’re not going to make her gay, nor are we going to take the next 50 issues explaining that she’s not. She’s young and experimenting, and did I mention open-minded?” The saber rattling continued, but on a much milder level after that.

My beef is this: If you are going to present this story ‘the science experiment’ why not present it from Willow’s point of view? That way we have a main character who is in canon bi or lesbian who can react to it. The audience has some chance of seeing exactly how painful it actually is. Being the ‘gay gal’ who’s ended up on the emotional crash side of the experiment I can tell you it sucks. It’s awful and icky and painful and yucky…all that and more.

I would’ve been much happier if this had been left open ended. If it had just happened, been funny (and it was marvelously funny), and then we’d moved on. It really is the fans that destroyed it. They turned it into a mud slinging contest. One I wish would just end.

Okay, its not that I don't like Satsu...it's that she is boring and doesn't have much development. But for a relationship standpoint, I think Buffy and Satsu are perfect together. Much healthier relationship then Spike and Buffy and much safer then Angel.

and I liked Buffy/Satsu.

I had no problem with Buffy taking up with another Slayer, I just wish that this part of the story had actually led somewhere. As it was it just didn't seem to go anywhere somehow. which is a shame.

When the story's over and it hasn't gone anywhere, I might say it's a shame. But there's still 25 issues - almost 2/3 of the seasonal arc - left. Still lots of places it could go.

I voted bad, because I think that, while Buffy does have an open mind, this seems very OOC for her. Also, until this point she has been portrayed as extremely heterosexual, with mutliple boyfriends, male crushes, etc. However, I can see how it would be in Buffy's nature to be attracted to powerful people, like vampires, secrety government military agents, and say, another slayer haha. Satsu does have a great personality for Buffy, and definitely can see her p.o.v., but it seems so wrong for Buffy. And don't get me wrong, hooray for more exposure of the gay community in a positive and real light, but for Buffy? I say not-so-much.
