Are they backing into a portal?

Time to change that placeholder image... or is it too soon... since it would be a major spoiler... Hmmm... perhaps not yet. After #33, sure.
ETA: Phil, I don't think there's a way to delete that attachment. Maybe you can do it, but Emmie and I have failed before when we tried to edit posts. Perhaps that image should be placed in spoilers.

I love the cover, it looks like the entrance to a cave behind Buffy and Angel, but it could very well be a portal. And gah! Not an attachment!

Love the cover! My Bangel loving heart wants this to get Angel as a regular cast member in season 9 and have Buffy ride off into the sunset with him!

Anyone looking in this thread shouldn't fault us for spoiling them as this thread encompasses the entire Twilight arc, and all story aspects that may unfold in it! If you clicked and saw that image, don't be mad at us...you should know better people.

Is it just me, or does Buffy look like she's in sort of a trance-like-state?

Is it just me, or does Buffy look like she's in sort of a trance-like-state? Well, Twilight is trying to convince Buffy that she's useless and that her mission is BS, so maybe the cover is of Angel telling her to let go, to go to sleep. Forever. Brrrr, that made me think of Dracula's thrall power. Blurgh.

Holy freakin SHIZ!!!! o.0!!! Why did I wander into this thread? I didn't see the whole title so I didn't see spoiler alert. I just clicked on the link from the main page. Holy crap. My soul just died. This is worse than when I found out L from Death Note was going to die T.T I think I have to go into a corner and weep now.... This is why school teaches you to pay attention and read things through...Who knew school would actually teach you useful things?

The image of him staking her with her own stake makes me think of what Twiligth said in #27: "It ends with her turning her sword against herself"
I think there's a definite possibility of Buffy siding with Angel and turning against the other slayers

So whats with the background? I see at lest 2 stars (suns maybe?) and all other stuff carved into it. I thought this might be the place that Buffy get betrayed but it don't look like it. Prolly reading to much into a awesome image.

I think there's a definite p[ossibility of Buffy siding with Angel and turning against the other slayers I agree... and if Joss tried to sell us some scenario in which she could ever be forgiven for such a thing, I'd laugh in his face. It would be a story-ending decision for her. I'm increasingly coming around to the notion that Faith is the Slayer who fights the Fraypocalypse, and that Buffy and Angel's stories both end in tragic failure.

Well it says that "The last Slayer called" was the one that fought. In the normal calling order Faith was the last Slayer called, not Buffy. I think you are on to something here.

It would be a story-ending decision for her. I'm increasingly coming around to the notion that Faith is the Slayer who fights the Fraypocalypse, and that Buffy and Angel's stories both end in tragic failure. I don't think Joss could spend over a decade creating and building a character just to discard her over some ex-boyfriend . . . Hopefully she'll either see sense and take the right side, or Angel's side will genuinely a sbe emi-reasonable one in which case we may have to forgive her . . . I think that with the storylines of Buffy stealing all that money and leading on Satsu Joss may be setting us up for a "she's not perfect but you gotta love her" type ending Unfortunately I've never been a big fan of Faith and I find it hard to believe that she could become the main hero in a series called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but that's my personal opinion and it is an interesting idea I certainly agree that if Angel's throwing his life away on this Twilight project he's probably thrown away his chance to be a major hero, actually looking again at the two-page spread of his predicted destiny in Angel: After the Fall #12 (him standing on a pile of human-looking corpses) makes me wonder if the upcoming battle with the slayers could be the battle pictured . . . He certainly seems pretty evil there

Is it just me, or does Buffy look like she's in sort of a trance-like-state? The way i see the image is Buffy closed eyes, happy to be in Angels loving embrace, but in closing her eyes she cant see the danger that he intends. Metaphor for "love is blind" etc...

The weird thing is... they must have had this trade paperback cover planned for months. It's pretty easy to infer from the cover that Angel is Twilight, which therefore spoils it for anyone reading along in the trades. And they were planning to do this long before the #34 covers leaked.
