omg... I can't resist, it's like a disease... thankfully nobody has put anything spoilery on it yet but i'm totally f***** (sorry about my french) about there only being 22 pages... i mean why do there need to be more advertisements anyway??? There is already enough ruining the flow of the story...

This is the first time, since Issue 1 that I have felt a lingering emotion about Season 8. It's very tragic and I'm so sad for her...who ever she was

Got it, read it and loved it! Yay and I picked up both variant covers as well It was a sad little story, but also a very refreshing edition of the season 8 comic, I think. After all the debate about The Long Way Home, this kind of just 'is' - do you know what I mean? When I say refreshing, I mean it's been good to get away from the main story and the central characters and good to get a slice of the effect of what the Scoobies did in Chosen has had on regular, nameless girls all over the world. For those of you who have not read it yet, I think you're in for a treat. They've continue to use Andrew to good use. I loved his little cameo Enjoy!

I think we should give her a name. Haha. Like, Janet or something. Janet kinda suits her. Mikey, that's a great idea! Maybe we should choose three names or so and have a vote. How about Tina as another option? I think that suits her too.

I just bought the issue from Forbidden Planet and i must say that i am impressed... I loved almost all of the issue except for the sluggy slimey thing (too un-buffy to me) and something about the fairies. I loved the deepness of the narrative as well as the storyline... I was hoping we'd see a real life Vi(olet) but seeing her in the cheesy ad was okay... Was the woman interviewing the unnamed slayer meant to be Rona as well??? I loved the cameos at the end of Satsu, Rowenna and Leah, with other slayers from Command Central... Can't wait for issue six (apparently the Preview night at SDCC gave people a booklet with the first six pages of #6 in... so if somebody has it, could they please scan them and post them online???

Yes actually I was thinking she was Olivia too.
I liked this one a lot! I'd describe it just like Cowboyguy and some others here as tragic, sweet, and sad. I suppose its more backstory for "The Girl in Question". I could read a lot of these I think, lol.

I thought it was Rona too. Scott Allie had said that Vi and Rona were making appearences. I really loved Vi and Andrew's infomercial. That was so cool. And how amazingly cute was that giant slug?

I think that this story would've been better (I still really enjoyed it though) is if it did actually have 30 pages... I was so hyper about this and then reading it with only 22 pages kinda ruined it as i thought this was gonna be a really huge thing, hence the page increase. And that pink haired punk is going to bug me if she keeps going on about guns (unless it is some kind of plot influence.)

Janet sounds good to me I think it was supposed to be Rona. And I loved the Vi and Andrew commercial it was cool, and I can totally see it on screen! I picked up the preview for Issue 6 too, I am so pumped for it now!! I'll see about scanning it for you all!!

OOOOOOOH thank you so much CowboyGuy... A new comic and new previews in the same day!!!
Now, who could actually see 'The Chain' as being the second episode of season 8??? I know that it isn't long enough to fill an episode, but, if some gaps were maybe filled, and maybe adding some of the scoobies (defo buffy as she has to appear in every episode. Maybe she could be jumping in to save the day with the other slayers, but is too late as the unnamed slayer has already died...just missed out on seeing the real buffster... Also, if this was to be an episode, i'd like to keep the narrative as it keeps a good flow, unlike the narrative in previous issues... I know, I know i read way too into these things...I'll shut up for a while...lol

'Not to poop on the party here' but something is at the back of my mind still as to why there hasn't been any official announcements by Joss or Dark Horse. I mean why haven't Dark Horse updated their website to show that this issue comes out 25th July??? I'll just have to wait till tomorrow evening, as that is when everyone will be talking about it... I have to get mine on thursday (stupid UK!!!) I haven't even spoilt myself, all i have seen of this issue is the two sketch pages of Paul Lee's from his interview, which will probably look completely different when inked and coloured... Sorry about the rant!!! PREVIEW AT WHEDONESQUE!!! I... CAN'T... RESIST!!! Okay this looks like it has been scanned into the computer very sloppily, so this means that the issues have all been printed and are ready for shipping... Ready for tomorrow... I emailed Scott and he said that they rushed to get it out earlier, and it all happened so quick that announcing it was never even a thought. As a sidenote, he also blames Harry Potter.

Who gets the eggs line... I really don't get it!!! She's telling Buffy that what Buffy heard isn't really what she said. (Even though it was.) "Eggs?" "It's not fatal. And I didn't do it." idk, I got it and thought it was hilarious.

It was good. I enjoyed the narrative flow of it. I was expecting something STELLAR because of the way Dark Horse was talking about it, but it wasn't really. It was still good though. I really liked the decoy Buffy's character and I thought Paul Lee's art was great. There is an amazing little part with Andrew and Vi. One thing that annoys me though is the fairies! I just didn't get them! Why does noone like the faries? I liked the idea! it's an underground thing, wink-wink. I thought the slug was a little wierd though.

Oh yeah, and I snagged a Paul Lee variant for $12. Oh yea, my deal was better! I got mine for only 9.99! I said, "Only $10, that's good." And the cashier asked me why and gave me a bad look. Almost scary. Then he sighed and said: "I never know how much to price the variants." LOL

This is the first time, since Issue 1 that I have felt a lingering emotion about Season 8. It's very tragic and I'm so sad for her...who ever she was I think I would be more emotional about it except for one thing... We don't know how long she lived. She could have gone as Buffy for 3 days, or a year. We don't know. Either way, it is still kinda sad.

Obviously, we now know that didn't happen, but in an episode it would have, and we also would have seen the main characters in the background behind Buffy, just to make sure everyone was shown and the credits were accurate.

Now, without quoting anyone: I personally loved the issue. And I liked Paul Lee's Andrew a lot more than Jeanty's. However, I didn't like the way Buffy looked. So here's how I'm getting over this: It wasn't buffy, the bad looks were all because of the unnamed Slayer. It wasn't like she'd gotten surgery to look exactly like Buffy. Also, is it possible that Paul Lee was asked NOT to show Buffy's face in the cover so that we wouldn't be objective to his sketch of who we would have thought was Buffy? And is this entire post confusing? And I like these new smilies: :vampirebite: :jawdrop: :scared:
