This was my favourite issue so far. I loved the story and the cover was beautiful.

I know, God!!! What do you guys do with the comics when the Trades come out? I box mine in air tight plastic boxes so that nothing can get in and nothing can get out!!!

I have a plastic container thing with two big drawers and 2 smaller ones. I've been putting all of my Buffy and Angel comics on one of the big drawers, but its starting to get full I'll have to seperate the TPBs from the comics.

I just found this comment at Whedonesque:
Okay. Thought. In Issue 1, Buffy mentions a Slayer that's "underground". In Issue 2, we see the pink-haird punk Slayer being trained by Andrew (god help her).
Here though, we see the punk Slayer in a leadership position before faux-Buffy ever goes underground.
Is it just me, or does the timeline not synch up?

You guys are free to email or whatever, I can't/won't control that. I just don't to get shut down for posting about illegal downloading of copyrighted materials. That's all. :sprint:

Is it just me, or does the timeline not synch up? I don't think pink-punk slayer was in a leadership position, but rather she was more...adamant about slaying. She called them amateurs, but I'm pretty sure that was just an insult, not evidence of her being in command. I'm sure she probably just got transfered. Maybe Andrew's group has more seasoned slayers since there was apparently some fiasco involving him. Maybe they're not sticking him with newbies.

I enjoyed this issue quite a bit. I think the new additions to the Buffyverse (fairy's and big slug thingies) make sense in the way Joss has said he's approaching this. He said in several interviews that he wanted to do all the things a television budget kept him from doing with the show. Little cgi fairy's and slug guys would have been cost prohibitive on a TV show but they cost nothing extra in a comic. I know a lot of people use the Diamond list to see what's coming but it's rarely 100% accurate. The sites for the publishers are even worse. Use the release dates on Dark Horse or IDW's sites as a guideline but there is no way to know for sure what's coming in that Wednesday until Diamond updates that week's list late afternoon/early evening on Monday.

I really did enjoy this issue. I wasn't a fan of how the first 4 wrapped up, so this made up for it. The whole theme of sacrifice without the glory was very touching, and I don't think we are supposed to have a name for this girl. That was the whole point of the story, she gave up her life for the common good not to have her name known throughout time.
The slugs and the fairies threw me though, I can't say I was a huge fan of that. However I did laugh out loud when I saw the 'leafblower thingy'. Hee.

I saw the slug things as the ones from that Angel episode where Fred gets infected by one... season 3 me thinks...I liked the scary leafblower mosquito thing

I love this issue. It had a impact on me. It made me think of war and that people are dieing all over trying to save the people of theres country's but we don't know them, or there names there just another body. Which was what the slayer was in the end another body. I liked how the flow of the comic moved, it didn't confused me with the going back in time then in time etc.
And i loved that fact that fairies where in it. We have had other fairytale creatures in it before so why not now. The slug thing looked so cute. I loved the t.v commercial! And was the colored women Olivia? or Rona? i kinda though it was Olivia.

Scott Allie said that Rona would make an appearence in this issue so I thought it was Rona.

Could have been then. I though it looked more like Olivia though. I hope we get to see more of Vi and Rona in the comics like what they have or are up to since there probs (well i think so) going to be group leaders being the slayers that helps close the SunnyD hellmouth.

I think I might be mildly retarded but am I the only one who finds the new comics a little bit confusing? There isn't much of a backstory given for things, or even an explanation. I've watched Buffy since its premiere and sometimes with the comics I have no idea what is going on. The Chain was a little confusing for me but I liked it. I was also torn about whether the woman was Olivia or Rona, but that is another place where there should have been an explanation given of who she was.

I'm sorry; we're supposed to believe that Buffy put together an advert in order to recruit Slayerettes? Way to stomp on the basic rules of superheroics! Not feeling it, I'm afraid. Same with the faeries, and the Glo Worm.
That said, it was interesting enough as a one-shot; I think it asked a lot of questions. How I feel about the issue itself will depend on whether those leads are followed up.

I don't think the advert was the best way to go about it, but too be honest, I think they are just losing ways to bring Andrew into it. Maybe they could kill him off!!! A bit drastic I know but, I'd love for it to be the original scoobies plus Dawn and 500 slayers but you know. Old Times, reminiscing!!!

I think the advert was real. In one part of the Decoy Buffy's narration, she says, "And truth is, it's not cheesy like the commercial."

I thought that the commercial was in this slayer's imagination, like that's what she thought it would be like. Cheesy. But it wasn't at all like she had initially envisioned it, hence her comment on her earlier views. It would just be bizarre if it were real.

Oh, see what I envisioned if this was to be an episode, is that once the advert was to be done, the TV would turn off and buffy and xander would have been watching it. Buffy would say:
BUFFY: Oh look, Andrew's making a fool of himself... yet again. Only this time, he manages to bring one of our best slayers down with him.
XANDER: Well I couldn't see anybody else lining up to do the job...
