like alot of you I feel that in that moment Buffy loved Spike, but I also think the writers wanted it to be a han solo type of send off. On the other hand its possible that Spike didn't want Buffy to love him because thats not the Buffy he fell in love with.

Well, remember what Cassie said in "Help", that one day Buffy will "tell him"? To me, this doesn't just prophecise Buffy blurting out three words meaninglessly. To me, Cassie was telling Spike one day she will tell him how she feels when he truly earns it. I think Buffy had always been in love with Spike, but do to him being a soulless and murdering (at different times!) vampire, she had trouble dealing with these feelings and never truly acted on them. It wasn't until Spike's selfless act in "Chosen" that she truly was ok with being in love with him.

To me i can clearly see that their have feelings for each other. its obvious their had passion, and a realistic theme to their relationship nothings goes perfect, which to me says that their went through alot , i wonder their must produced some feelings.

I think Buffy is just telling Spike what he wants to hear because he is sacrificing his life. Spike knows it’s not true but is happy she was nice enough to say it.
