So I was thinking... What if some of the members got together and did a SA Podcast filled with, latest news, fanfic reviews, hottest thread discussions, Contest announments and more. What do you guys think? Would you listen? Would you want to be involved?

Sounds pretty cool. I don't think I have anything to offer in terms of making the thing, but I'd for sursies listen.

i'd tune in too....it's just how exactly would the technicalities of it all work out? such as how will 2 or more Slayalivers get together to record it if they're not in the same geographical area?....there's a lot of members here all over the world and would if someone in London and someone from West Hollywood wanted to do it...how would they do it besides playing 3 games of online Rock,Paper,Scissors to see who will buy the expensive plane ticket to whoevers place. Unless there's some podcast mechanisms that i'm unaware of that let's people record or film podcasts from different parts of the world...I don't know much of anything about podcasts except that i've listened to a few....so if there is, just tell me to shut up and i'll stop my confused rambling.

The only thing that is really dificult with a podcast is time zones of the contributers and making sure the equitment works. You can use a program called Skype and use a call recorder program to record. Then edit, upload and volla.

This has been a project I have been wanting to get started for almost a year. This is something I haven't seen done around town (other Buffy forums).
I would feel fine contributing something, but I just don't know how we would get it recorded and stuff. I could probably edit the stuff too. I have a pretty nice video editing software on my laptop.

The only problem I have is Time... It would have to be done sometime between 5:30-8:15 pm PST Tuesdays/Thursdays and while my room mate is at work... or 9:30-10:45 am PST Mondays and Wenesdays.

A Skype podcast would be fun. Another option would be to do a sort of NPR/This American Life setup, where we have one primary "host" and then other people just record the various segments on their own time and submit for, say, a podcast released every other week (to give people enough time to send in their audio files to the editor to piece together into a coherent whole). You'd need someone at the top as the "editor" coordinating all the segments and making sure everyone gets their stuff in on time, but it could be really fun and a much better way to incorporate time differences.

This was my thought as well. I'm not intending to sound braggy, but I am quick to learn when it comes to stuff like editing. So I wouldn't mind being the editor. I would also be really cool to skype! More thoughts kiddos! Let's get our thoughts collected and we can decide on something eventually, haha.

I would love to help. I'm doing in a course in Radio and Audio Media so that would really help. Please PM me and ask me to do anything Such a neat idea EDIT: Timezones and being in different countries wont effect this at all, I dont think its going to be a live podcast? so it should be fine. Basically people would through in ideas, then everyone who wants to record will be given a topic or something to record about. Upload there recordings onto a file sharing site and then whoever the editor is can download all your recordings and edit them together, upload the podcast and its ready to listen to.

I don't know much about podcasts, but I know they have a BUNCH on itunes for free and cheap. And that they're mostly for Harry Potter stuff. I'd totally get one for SlayAlive.

Just to let everyone know... Little update. I put a staff together, and gave them their topics and their first deadline. The deadline came and went and I got nothing. So... yeah... there is your update.
