Well it will most likely be cool. These movies tend to deliver what they promise. While they don't break any new ground, they are usually pretty entertaining.

I enjoyed the first three for what they were: mindless popcorny fun, and this looks about on par. It's cool to see them using elements from Resident Evil 5, but at the same time it just reminds me that I always wished these movies followed the games more closely.

I am excited for this one to come out as I recently re-watched the Resident Evil trilogy. I'm happy Larter is going to be back on this one as well as Wentworth Miller joining the cast. Mostly I'm ready to watch Alice kick a lot of ass. I need some type of kick ass entertainment cause whats out now really isn't doing it for me.

The first film (back in 2002) was the only one that I really enjoyed out of the whole Resident Evil franchise so far. But by the looks of Afterlife, its looks like it'll give the the original RE a run for its money.
If they make a sixth film, I hope they'll bring in Leon Kennedy (played by Jensen Ackles) and Ada Wong (played by Maggie Q). That would be pretty kick-ass.
Also, the new zombie-look with the mouth opening up like flower petals reminds me of the vampires in Balde II.

I'm liking the Wesker recast. Not sure if I'll see it in 3-D though. I hope Jill Valentine returns in this one.

I watched the first movie a couple months ago and both sequels just last week. They were dumb (third was actually kind of well-made though), but I couldn't get enough of them. Mindless action, zombies and kickass women are just too fun to watch. I'll definitely check this one out. The Executioner looks awesome.

I'm liking the Wesker recast. Me too. I'm not a fan of recasting characters, in fact, I hate it. But I'll make an exception just this once since Jason O'Mara (who played Wesker in Extinction) was only in the movie for less than a minute and because Shawn Roberts (who will play Wesker in Afterlife) looks more like the character than O'Mara. (third was actually kind of well-made though) Resident Evil: Extinction was the worst of them all, IMO. 1) Resident Evil (2002) 2) Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) 3) Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) The Executioner looks awesome. He does! When I first saw the picture of him, I couldn't help but think of Pyramid Head (Silent Hill).

Lol. I actually thought the same thing about the third one when I first saw it. Then when I watched it again with the first two I liked it. Even though I liked I still have to say I like the first two more.

I've purposefully never seen any of the movies as I've never played a lot of the games, but since everyone here seems to dig them, I might have to watch them sometime.

You don't need to know anything about the games in order to see the movies. In fact, it's probably better that way so you aren't bitter towards them like I am. Hehe it's so weird, because I enjoy watching them for what they are, and yet I hate them for not being what they could've been (if they followed the game series closer).

While I've only played Resident Evil 4 and 5, I quite enjoyed them and I quite enjoyed the movies. They may not entirely follow the games, but at least it has the characters in them. I'm just a bit bummed out that Jensen Ackles isn't appearing in this movie as Leon Kennedy. Would've bumped up my excitement for the film
Edit: Just saw the trailer and I've added it to my to-see list

While I'm interested in seeing this I probably won't be seeing it in theaters. I was disappointed in Extinction for many reasons and I don't want to spend the 8 bucks or more on the ticket and be disappointed like I was with the third installment.
OT: I don't know why but the third film in many of my favorite franchises suck or lower in quality for me. Aliens 3, X-Men 3, Terminator 3, and RE 3 (I know there are a couple more that I can't think of but those are the top four).

Hehe, Spider-Man 3, Blade Trinity, Back to the Future III, Batman Forever, Superman III, The Matrix Revolutions, Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End, Jurassic Park 3. For the record, I love Matrix Revolutions and Pirates 3, they just aren't nearly as good as what came before. And I ESPECIALLY love Jurassic Park 3, but again, same reasoning.

Those are definitely some of the other 3rd films that I disliked. Blade 3, Matrix 3, and PotC 3 are the ones that I really agree with. While I liked Blade 3 the previous two were so much better. I loved Matrix, I liked Matrix 2 and I hated Matrix 3. I've never seen Spiderman 3 so I can't comment on that one but I wasn't a Spiderman fan anyway. The only one that I disagree with was Jurassic Park 3, while not my favorite of the three it was my second favorite. I'm not a huge fan of the JP: Lost World.

Yeah, Jurassic Park 3 was miles better than The Lost World. I guess I'm not really sure why Extinction is my favorite of three. It was four in the morning when I watched it so maybe I was tired. But I loved the setting and it felt a lot more human than the other two, it wasn't all about nonstop zombies wanting to eat you. Plus Iain Glen playing another video game movie villian was awesome. It almost matched his cheesy performance in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The one thing I'm dreading about Afterlife is Wentworth Miller as Chris. He's been awful in everything I've seen him in and if Chris is anything like in the games... I can't see him pulling that off.

I wish they kept Dr. William Birkin from the first Resident Evil film. That would have been way bad-ass. Yeah, Jurassic Park 3 was miles better than The Lost World. I'm probably in the minority here but I actually liked The Lost World better than Jurassic Park III. The one thing I'm dreading about Afterlife is Wentworth Miller as Chris. I agree. When I first heard the new that Wentworth Miller was going to play Chris Redfield, I was pretty disappointed. To be honest, I don't know who I'd cast to play Chris. I never watched Prison Break or anything he was in (except for Buffy - Go Fish) so I can't really judge his acting skills. I guess I'll just have to hope for the best.

With Extinction one of the reasons why I didn't like it was because I felt that it jumped ahead too far. If there was one maybe even two movies in between Apocalypse and Extinction I might have enjoyed Extinction more, but because there were holes I didn't enjoy it as much. I wondered what happened to Jill, I wondered what happened to the little girl, what was the catalist for Alice separating from the group, how did Claire meet up with the group. Plus I didn't like that two of the characters (that I loved) from the previous movie were killed. One I could accept but both bugged me. I haven't seen him in enough to be dreading his part in the movie, however he probably wouldn't have been my first choice to play Chris. I've only seen Wentworth Miller in Buffy and in an episode of Law & Order: SVU. I hope this Afterlife is better and fills in some of the holes that Extinction left me with. I will more than likely wait for the DVD to come out before I watch it.
