Bill Willingham I might have to pick up some of his work. I really like the art also.

I couldn't be more excited about the news. It sounds like the two Bills are really crafting a great story (from what few snippets we have been given). I haven't read FABLES yet, but I hear so many good things about it that I definitely will try to before this new arc begins. Messina doing the art for the Eddie Hope side story is also a great treat and I just can't wait to see how it all comes together.
The new artist seems pretty stellar as well. His style is very similar to Mooney's.

The hope charactor sounds intreaging, and I like the idea of Conner leading an army

From the initial coverage on Newsarama I was a bit worried bout this. (The whole Angel being missing for a while) but Brian clarified over on IDW that Angel willbe present, but not with the other characters for a while.
So now I can get excited:)

Do you know if that second image of Eddie is a variant cover for this issue? Looks like it could be. EDIT- Here is the Eddie Hope concept art from Pat's interview with Messina:

Definitely could be. Looks like. The image just said "Eddie Hope pin up" though, so no way to know.

This all looks really promising. Fables is a great series and I love David Messina's art. Not familiar with Brian Denham, I just Googled him and his art seems okay. Hopefully Willingham will be on the book for a while; after all these one-shots and mini-series we need some long-term direction for Angel. I'm interested in what he has planned for Connor. I hated the character on the show but he really came into his own in After the Fall and I'm happy to see more of him. Having him take over from Angel for a while seems like a great idea, it's very Batman and a good chance for Connor to do some growing up. That Eddie Hope concept art is amazing. Such a cool character design, both the human and the demon forms. I'm already fascinated by the character. I just love David Messina, have done since the abysmal Old Friends and was pissed he didn't get to do more of After the Fall. One observation; Willingham mentions "Angel Enterprises". Was that something that happened in Aftermath, or something Willingham is introducing? Is Angel Investigations branching out? Intriquing.

Nope, that wasn't started in Aftermath. Maybe it is the reason Angel is gone in the beginning? Starting a legitimate business perhaps? With his celebrity stature, it is certainly a possibility.

Maybe it's like a chain of Angel Investigations. Angel's using his fame and fortune to create a huge organisation dedicated to helping the helpless? That's an interesting idea, a little similar to season five though.

Or it was just a joke, isn't Batman owning Wayne Enterprises? Angel is compared to batman at times. So Connor takes over Angel's team and maybe AI and not a complete company.
I doubt that Angel would sit again behind a desk (the same for at least Gunn), if he starts such a big company ... somebody else needs to lead it.
edit: I saw that Ryall promised us a new cover today by Jenny Frison. Is that the one we already have?

Now that I have had a couple hours to sleep on it, I am now thrilled at the concept of Bill Willingham of writing for Angel. Being a huge Fables fan myself, I should have trusted my instinct that this arc would be amazing. I was just kind of skeptical because of what Kelley Armstrong did with Angel: Aftermath.

Hmmm... does Angel move to Miami? Coz the character design for Eddie is pretty much a generic Miami sleazoid, no offense to anyone who chooses to look like that. The creature design is pretty cool... kinda looks a bit like the Beast, except less rocky and with a wicked looking tail.

Some further details from a better report about the panel at Comic-Con: SourceStill no idea what Angel will be up to, but I look forward to see how this story all comes together.

This is what Korkster said about that on Whedonesque. (He was at the Panel.)
So being famous is annoying for Angel and he leaves for a while.
The promised cover for #28 was indeed the one we already had. Ryall promised in the same post that he will tell more about this arc in the next days and weeks.
