Messina is really knocking it out of the park with these covers. There isn't much variety, but they are so amazing.

But ya...great cover. The A covers are cool...but I think I will be getting the Messina ones. I think Eddie Hope and Angel stories will connect in a big way...so I want to have those ones:)

So, let me get this straight: is the subtitle 'The Crown Prince Syndrome' or has that been changed to 'Immortality for Dummies'? Sorry, it's kinda been a while since I've been in this section. btw, the cover looks awesome

Sorry, it's kinda been a while since I've been in this section. btw, the cover looks awesome Willingham's writing arc is called "Immortality For Dummies". The first two issues of this arc, #28 and #29, are a two-part story called "The Crown Prince Syndrome".

Solicitations are out for February: ANGEL #30
Written by Bill Willingham, art by Brian Denham, covers by Jenny Frison and David Messina.
Things are not going so well for either our famously intrepid hero or his "merry" band of assistant heroes. Spike and Gunn finds themselves committing rooftop shenanigans, Connor is in over his head back at the office, and Angel is starting to wonder if anyone is going to find him before he dies of boredom. And just what is Connor "chosen" for, anyway?
32 pages, $3.99.I hope we get Jenny's cover soon.

Interesting stuff. Excited for some Spike and Gunn interaction, that barely happened in Season 5. So Angel is missing? Weird.

When the title of the arc was announced, I believe Bill also talked about why it was called that: Angel had been kidnapped and was being harnessed for an industrialized version of immortality. Hence - Immortality For Dummies.

ditto the spike and gunn action. I always felt like they would have good chemistry, especially when spike called him charlie boy. yay

Here's the thumbnail to the cover: Hope we get a larger version soon. Jenny's covers get better each time, I really love this one.

The design rocks, especially the title. It's going to be tough choosing.

I quit the ANGEL books after the Drusilla story, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Jenny's cover. Stylistically, it's a lot cooler than Messina's, which while executed well is rather generic.

Yeah, he pretty much does the same thing for each cover, but his style is so awesome I don't even mind. But Jenny... oh Jenny. Take me, ma'am. Take me hard. <3333

This isn't one of Jenny's better covers IMO. I love the background and the title, but the figures look rather dull and lifeless. One of the things I've loved about Jenny's previous covers was the life she brought to the images... they were so fun and energetic.
That's if I'm even keeping track of these covers right... Jenny's previous ones were the "red carpet Angel" one and the New Year special, am I right? The inking looks so different in this one, it doesn't look like the same artist.

I'm not a big fan of this cover either, Connor's face looks weird, although the colors are great. But she posted a larger version on her DeviantArt: click for a large version

Added the larger version to the first post. Thanks Nina!
I love the texturing on the blue and yellow backgrounds, plus the main title looks awesome.
