I hope they use the #29 or #31 cover, not Jenny's worst. Nice to see this possibly out in July though, not long after Vol. 6.

Looks cool enough....only it looks a bit like Angel has no pants on.XD Also, who is the angry vamp-slaying redhead?

Winterdreamer, I'm guessing the vamp Slaying redhead is Felicia, that hot sorceress from the Watchers Council who's been hired by that company to put souls back into vampires. I don't know, she's only been in one issue so far though.
Oh and did anyone else besides me giggle at Conner on the cover?

(stupid slow shipping) haha, no, I laughed at Connor as well.....he looks like he is trying to brood like his Da, but just not managing it very well. =P

Ohhh! I love the cover!
It says it has 28-33, but isn't 34 apart of this run too?

34 is supposed to be by Bill Willingham but it will be a different arc. Just like With buffy season 8 how their are different arcs with the overall connecting story. Unless they decide Willingham just can't cut it and they toss him but They made a huge deal leading up to his coming on to the Angel team that I doubt he's only doing six issues.

Gotcha. I got a little lost, with the cover switching, and what not. Thanks! ;D

Ohhh! I love the cover! It says it has 28-33, but isn't 34 apart of this run too? When Ryall posted the new cover art, he mentioned this HC collected 28-32 ... so maybe the title of this thread needs changing, once we confirm for sure. But based on the description of #33 and the next HC after this, it does sound like this does only go up to #32.

I'm thinking of just skipping this HC, as well. It can join Aftermath in the 'abandoned dimension'. I love the art in these issues, but the story is pretty crappy. And no one is in character. I hear the next arc is waaaaaaay better, so I will still consider adding that one to my shelf of amazingness.

well I got my hands on this. No cover gallery but there was an interview with Willingham and according to him he confirmed the next arc is called Connorland. This probably means issue 33 where James goes a-wall is a oneshot between arcs.
Other than that, for anyone who would be reading this for the first time all in one shot, this would probably put Willingham and his run on Angel in a really badlight.

Picked this up today (yes, it sucks, but I'm a completist). Strangely enough, IDW have decided to reboot the numbering for the HCs... the spine on this doesn't match the previous books and is numbered "1". Publishers do this sometimes when new writers take over (even when the actual issue numbering continues), pity they never did it with Aftermath instead.
Haven't looked inside yet.

I got this today too. It is really well put together. The main Angel story is the 1st part of the book and the Eddie Hope stories comprise the rest of it. There is a nice Willingham interview in the back as an extra - no covers this time.
I know this may be unpopular...but I really enjoyed re-reading this as a whole story. Some things we had issues with (limbs dusting, some characters OOCness) have been addressed in recent issues so they don't grate as much. Some of the characters voices (Illyria in particular) do not come across right...but again things have improved there in recent issues.
I still don't think this is as bad as people have made it out to be.Its not 'Aftermath' bad:)

What? It's #1? There are no covers? That's a terrible choice.

I never noticed the lack of covers. That is a terrible choice, this story had some of the best run of covers in the entire Angel series. In fact, they're currently the best thing about the series.

What? It's #1? There are no covers? That's a terrible choice. Ya...I have no idea why they didnt cotinue with the numbering. Maybe because it's the end of the 'Fall' story line (and its fall out) with number 6...or because it's a new writer...or...I have no idea. It's a pity about the covers. They have been a nice addition in every volume so far. The interview with Willingham is good though.
