Something that I haven't seen in this thread yet that you may wanna know: pretty spoilery. Echo's imprint that marries Martin (Jamie Bamber) works for the FBI

A link to three preview clips was added to the first post. Only watched the first half of the first and third clip, and can already tell the show will be stronger. Love the new look it has, and a big WOW to both Amy and Eliza.

Fantastic start to the season. Many plots from last season were revisited, which is what I was excited about the most. It was great to see how unhinged Whiskey got throughout the course of the episode, and her exit worked really well with Amy's long term hiatus from the show, so that is good. Amy was really brilliant in this episode.
Another highlight were the further developments with Echo and her issues. The climax where she was switching back and forth between different personas was fantastic, especially when Paul got her to switch to her assassin personality. That was epic.
And ALEXIS! Yay! Can't wait to see more from him and what longterm effects his campaign against Rossum will have. Jamie's character was a bit boring though, and it was hard to believe he fell for Echo so quickly. Other than that, I enjoyed the episode's A story, although the B stories were more interesting (Whiskey, Daniel Perrin).
Really strong start.
The good: +Whiskey/Amy Acker +Echo's issues +Daniel Perrin's interesting start / implications it will have on the Dollhouse +Alexis is on TV again
The bad: -Adelle's new hair -Jamie Bamber's character was boring -Main story wasn't that exciting until the climax
8.5/10

I loved Amy Acker's scenes. Happy with the way Echo's persona is developing re: her imprints.
I thought they went a little too heavy with the long, intense, humorless conversations. Apart from the last 10 minutes, most of this episode could just has easily have been a radio drama. (Of course, then we would have missed Amy's beautiful legs...)

I actually really enjoyed Amy's long scenes. Her scene with Boyd and then with Topher were easily my favorites of the episode, most likely because Amy was just incredible and we will only see her two more times this year.

Wow. Definitely going to have to rewatch this first thing tomorrow. There was so much greatness. This might actually be the best episode of the series in terms of symbols, layers, and character development. It's what Joss does best and it really showed here.
Amy Acker totally stole the spotlight. Every single scene with her was the best, the one between her and Topher obviously being the standout. The dynamic between the two was incredible. It spoke volumes about Topher too, and it was so cool to see a more human side of him. I'm so pissed she will only be in three of the thirteen episodes, but man, Joss wasn't lying when he said he'd make them count. The "excuses" thing with Boyd was great, especially at the end when she had no more.
The whole wedding story/undercover story was pretty meh-ish. Just wasn't that entertaining, and honestly pretty boring at times. The Paul stuff made it worth something though, seeing how he's dealing. As for Echo, she just became a very interesting character and I'm so looking forward to where this goes. It's awesome how she's still acting like Caroline, but she isn't in there. Her old personalites leaking through was cool too.
Major "aww" to Victor and Sierra.
The Senator Daniel Perron story seems very promising too. Alexis rocked just in that one minute.

Must be honest. I didn't get into the episode fully. The Echo 'mission' was kinda boring, until she started switching personalities. Amy Acker was amazing. I loved that she kept playing jokes on Topher at the beginning. And she hates Topher on her own? Very cool. Adelle's hair was... Different. Boyd was okay. The best parts of this episode were with Amy. It was very cool to see Alexis in another Joss show! He and Amy should have scenes together later on!
I don't quite understand Alexis' character, though. Why was Adelle freaking out about him? My power went out somewhere durring that scene, so I think I missed something...
And 'yay'! We got to see a picture of 'Mellie', so at least she wasn't gone fully in this episode.
I'm kind of happy with how Joss handled Amy's situation. I'm glad that they found a reason to have her leave the show for a while... One problem! Whiskey is running from the Dollhouse now, yes? We know what the Dollhouse can do, how far will she get? According to Adelle's friend, she wouldn't make it to the airport. Maybe a plot problem?
The Topher/Claire scene was amazing. So emotional! I loved it. I noticed that they changed some of the voice tones in that scene. I watched the clip of it over and over, and I hated how Topher said some stuff(Sounded like bad acting). However, they must have had him record over it, because it sounded very different at some parts durring the scene.
Sierra and Victor weren't in a lot, and I'm okay with that. The only thing that makes them main characters, IMO, is them being in love with eachother. Besides that plot point, they really have no good reason to be mains. I still love them though! ;D
I really want Claire to snap sometime, and team up with Alpha. I think the two of them would be awesome for the final episodes, as the big bads. Try to bring down the Dollhouse? Maybe try to get Echo to help them? Would be cool.
I'd give the episode a 9/10. I'm taking one point off, because of how un-interesting most of the Echo scenes were.
Before I forget, I loved how Echo remembered a past engagement with Whiksey! I thought that scene was going to be in another episode...

I need to relax and look at these episodes from the perspective of a hardcore fan (which I am), and not worry so much about how it will seem to non-hardcore fans.

I don't quite understand Alexis' character, though. Why was Adelle freaking out about him? My power went out somewhere durring that scene, so I think I missed something... Daniel Perrin has found out about the Rossum Corporation and how they mistreat animals. Obviously not a good thing for the Dollhouse, as the two organizations are linked. Since Daniel is leading a public investigation on the Rossum Corporation, there is a strong chance the Dollhouse might be discovered, which is obviously not good for them. Can't wait to see how this plays out!

He's a U.S. Senator who is trying to take down the Rossum Corporation, which runs the dollhouses. You can imagine how Adelle views the possibility of a government investigation into what they're doing. I don't think Adelle is concerned with catching her. Topher said Adelle would have been willing to give her her original personality back... but she doesn't want it. Pretty sure her 5-year contract was up already, so if she wants to leave she can. Before I forget, I loved how Echo remembered a past engagement with Whiksey! I thought that scene was going to be in another episode... Girl-kissage denied! Bad Joss.

Here is what he said during tonight's episode:
“There is nothing less than a conspiracy, spear-headed by the Rossum Corporation, to withhold medical advancements, to use radical, illegal technology for undeclared profit, to treat people like guinea pigs and the public at large like cattle.“

Presumably Rossum has high-powered lobbyists who can shut down any investigation, unless something big happens. (And ya know... I think it just might.)
Using the word "conspiracy" would be enough for Perrin's opponents (Rossum, and the senators they own) to brand him as a crackpot.

I don't quite understand how Claire would have a saying in it. It's not her body, is it? She said so herself, that she was afraid to give up the body, even though it isn't hers. Would Adelle let her run away with someone else's body?

I'm looking forward to finding out who tipped Perrin off about Rossum. They setup it up like some did, but don't think they made it clear who. Boyd, perhaps? Having Epitaph One flashes. Hmm. I don't quite understand how Claire would have a saying in it. It's not her body, is it? She said so herself, that she was afraid to give up the body, even though it isn't hers. She's just had the same imprint for so long that the imprint is more real to her than the body (and the personality that originally went with it.) That revelation was definitely the highlight of the episode. It wasn't really a revelation, but just actually hearing it from a crying Amy Acker made it amazing.

I can't get over hearing Alexis Denisof speak American English after 5-and-some-change years of Wesley. It's messing with my mind, man!
