Lots of threads on rumors and the big one marking the "will it or will it not be renewed" timeline. It's time for a Season 2 Discussion Thread. Today on Twitter, @motancharoen posted this: Fazekas and Butters are in D-house and they're awesome.I had to look it up, but Fazekas and Butters are the creators of "Reaper" which was canceled in its 2nd season this past year.** Fazekas and Butters were also the only two writers credited on each "Reaper" episode, so much of the failure that "Reaper" turned out to be can be squarely put on their shoulders. If this is true, that the creators of "Reaper" are going to be writing on Dollhouse for Season 2, I am nothing but worried. Talk me down, guys. **For those who aren't familiar with "Reaper," it was a low-budget comedy fairly well scripted over the first season but with terrible viewership. The second season viewership wasn't any better, and the writing only got worse.

Um this doesn't sound all that great. Sorry, I know next to nothing about Reaper so I can't talk you off the ledge, Rebecca.

There's obviously some potential there or they wouldn't have been contacted. That's all I got.

I call Reaper, "The New Buffy". Besides Dollhouse, it was my favorite show this season. I know a lot of you people would probably disagree because nothing can replace Buffy but it has that "feel" and I love the show. I'm bummed that it wasn't renewed and that's probably because the CW never gave it the attention it deserved cause it wasn't a stupid show for tween girls.

Reaper was an excellent show, I encourage everyone to check out DVDs. The show was funny, smart, and inventive, which is exactly why it was cancelled! Don't fret Rebecca! This is good news!

Ok, Sock is a tad revolting but you get used to it. He wasn't that bad in the first season. That's it's only flaw, and I sometimes find him amusing. As I already said, most of you will disagree but I still think Reaper is a great show.

Some new details about what to expect in S2 of Dollhouse here. It's a new interview on EW's Popwatch, and there's also a little part at the very end where Joss finally really comments about the BtVS reboot. Enjoy...

Spoilery, Xi! Yays! Whedon says that Echo's last word in the finale, "Caroline," was the beginning of her season 2 quest. "Echo wants to find not just Caroline, but what's going on behind everything. She doesn't have all of the skills. [Laughs] But she does have this weird super power of becoming a different person all the time, so she might start using that more specifically to find out who Caroline was and what happened to her and why this place exists." So she still has all those past imprints in her? "Well, they're supposed to have wiped them out of there. But we'll see how well that went..."
She composited for realio!! yay!!!!

There is new interview with Eliza that has some pretty awesome details about Season 2 here. It does contain some Epitaph One spoilers. Sounds like they have some pretty cool episode ideas and that cameo would be more than amazing.

From Twitter: watchdollhouse RT @fox8australia has confirmed an early pick up of S2 of DOLLHOUSE to begin airing soon after the S1 conclusion in late 2009.
That's nice for Aussie folks. Probably European fans as well.

I felt like doing some speculating and my hopes for what will happen:
Well, hopefully if Amy Acker can make it back we'll definitely be learning more about her background, and specifically her connection with Topher. There has to be a reason why he imprinted her to make her hate him, just as she asked, I'm hoping we get the chance to explore that.
Paul will be following the inside messenger's advice while in the Dollhouse and be trying to discover the purpose of the Dollhouse, the reason why it exists, as he has finally realized trying to take it down the way he was just isn't working.
It will be revealed that Dominic wasn't the spy sending messages to Paul (god I hope so, otherwise, massive plot hole, the messages and Dominic's goals just don't mesh at all), who will eventually reveal themselves to Paul. I'm voting it was Adelle. Don't ask me why, but I've got a feeling. She seems to hold a lot of pity for the dolls/actives, especially Echo, and despite the risks they often provide to the Dollhouse she still protects them (specifically, Echo once again).
We will see at least one other Dollhouse. Or at least people from another Dollhouse.
Sierra will be frightened of Victor as he will have fresh and nasty looking scars, Victor won't quite understand and still try to pursue her, which I think will remind Sierra of her rape, and maybe result in some justice enacted out on the wrong person.
Echo will be definitely becoming really self-aware. Her bond with Boyd will continue to hold strong.
Mellie (Crap, can't remember her real name) will begin having either weird dreams, or weird flashbacks of her time with Paul, and come back to the Dollhouse to question him and others.
I think the season will end with Paul discovering horrible things about the Dollhouse, and being immediately caught by higher-security people, and ultimately ending up being forced into the chair himself. Either to be sent up in the attic or to become a doll himself.
Everyone else post some theories! I want to hear people's ideas. I just wish we had seen Epitaph One cause then we'd definitely have a better understanding of what we're in for.

You should definitely be in the writers' room I especially want to see the whole messenger thing cleared up, I completely agree with everything you said on that.

To Antonio: I think there's definitely some lingering memories in Mellie/Madeline. The show has shown their wipe process isn't 100% all the time, especially with Echo. I mean, even in Echoes, November started talking to Adelle and Topher with memories that Mellie had and her feelings for Paul when she clearly shouldn't have. Actually, now that I think about it, that whole episode kinda showed that all of the dolls still have the memories deep inside them that are never fully erased. Victor with his war trauma, Sierra with her rape, Echo with her animal activism. Plus, there's just too much stuff they can do with her to erase her from the show. And I like her. Even if the obsessive baking of food was kinda creepy at the beginning. Who's to say that she won't malfunction in real life, hear the word green flower and go all killing spree? I highly doubt exactly this, but there's probably still some sleeper active in there.
To theend: Yeah, I remember that Paul is Echo's handler now. But in the scene Echo was looking at Boyd the whole time she was saying those lines.
To Rebecca: Wow. Thanks! Glad you liked my ideas, and glad I'm not alone on the messenger deal. My friends all argued with me that it was Dominic but I wasn't all that convinced.
Oh! Just remembered, but I highly hope we see the guy that forced Sierra into the Dollhouse. There definitely needs to some issues resolved there.
I just hope there isn't too many standalone episodes, especially considering the standalone episodes we got weren't all that cool in my opinion. The only one of them I really liked was The Target (although to be fair, I thought the Target was one of the best episodes of the series so far).
