Oh... I dunno... Batgirl, Batwoman, some other crimefighter that doesn't require gender-bending...

What about the Joker? Do you think there's any possibility he might return, even with a new actor?

I think it's always a possibility, but I doubt they'll recast him.

What about the Joker? Do you think there's any possibility he might return, even with a new actor? I've heard plenty of rumors, but considering that Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger were friends, and that the latter's death had a significant impact on the former, I doubt he'd do it. Aaron Eckhart said that Nolan's original plan had The Joker and Two-Face teaming up in Batman 3, but do to Ledger's death he now considers Two-Face to be dead. I'd assume he now considers The Joker to be rotting in Arkham and it's what I like to think too.

Oh... I dunno... Batgirl, Batwoman, some other crimefighter that doesn't require gender-bending... No. That's boring. Batgirl, Supergirl... they're just cheap knock-offs of the original male version. Robin's a wholly-original character. Plus, it's the perfect unisex name. ;D And I'd hate to see them re-cast the Joker. Save that for the next re-boot. In this cycle of movies, no one could ever possibly come close to touching Ledger's performance, so they shouldn't even attempt it. Hell, I had enough trouble with the new Rachel, and you could hardly compare the impact of Katie Holmes performance with Ledger's...

Is your problem with the Rachel recast Gyllenhaal's performance or do you just hate recasting? I just hate recasting. I actually preferred Maggie to What's-her-face Cruise.

If you can't get the original actor back for whatever reason, create a new character and re-work the script however necessary. It just really takes me out of the story when they try to pass off a brand-new face as the same old character... I'll admit to thinking Holmes was hot back in the day. Lost all interest in her after she went crazy and married the midget. But I actually thought that in this role, she and Gyllenhaal were both very good.

There is a major thread on this topic at bloodydisgusting.com where I also frequent since I'm a massive horror nerd.
Anywho, Christopher Nolan has hinted that he would like for this to be the last of The Batman series and somehow tie it off. Some fans are interpreting this as perhaps Batman will sacrifice himself and die. However, we believe that would be a pretty ballsy and stupid move to kill the character. Perhaps it's more of a foreshadowing of him hanging up the suit for the time being?
It's unfortunate yet I doubt Harley Quinn would make even a short debut in the movie. I love how crazy she is in the comics and since she's tied to The Joker, I believe they will try to stray from that. If they did have her make a short appearance, I hope they would pick the correct actress for it.
I really couldn't stand the whole Rachel story of Batman and it pissed me off because it seemed added in there at the last minute. Why not use Sasha Bordeaux for a love interest? That would have been badass.
Personally, I'm wanting The Riddler to be the main villian. Those who say both him and The Joker are the same, are making quite a flawed assumption.

I can actually see a pre-crazy Harley Quinn (AKA Harleen Quinzel) making a cameo in Arkham kind of like Zsasz's in Batman Begins, assuming the asylum is in the film. I agree that The Riddler is probably the best villain choice, but I like Catwoman too. I also think bringing back The Scarecrow in a supporting role could be fun, but it's mostly because I really like Cillian Murphy.

I really want there to be Nightwing. Not Bat/Cat women lol. Robin/Nightwing could kind of be like Kickass. I hate Re-casting but I was so HAPPY they did with Gyllenhaal, she did just a good job.

Here are some of my Whedonverse picks: - Robia LaMorte as Talia al Ghul - Alexis Denisof as Black Mask - Armin Shimerman as Penguin - Alan Tudyk as The Riddler - Bianca Lawson as Catwoman I'm stumped over Bane, no one is really big enough. What about Abraham Benrubi, who played Oalf?

Oh... I dunno... Batgirl, Batwoman, some other crimefighter that doesn't require gender-bending... There actually was a female Robin in the comics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephanie_Brown_(comics)Sorry for the double post, I don't know how to do the multiple quote thingy.....

Well there we go... problem solved. Oh, and to multiple quote, just open up another window, and copy and paste all the quotes into the second window. Tedious, but that's the only way I know to do it.

i'd like to see the ridler in the next batman movie. i like that all of batman's villains have been down to earth people. come to think of it, they're all practically terrorists. i could see the ridler as a possibility. no man bat. no penguin. no clayface.
but DO NOT cast jim carey for the role. and ditch the lame costume. imho, i think they could make the riddler very interesting by having the ridler be almost like the chameleon from spider-man. have him be just another face in the crowd. no distinct facial features, changes costumes frequently, and hard to pinpoint.
this would give batman a challenge. and could give the writers more time to elaborate on more of batman's detective skills.

I would love the casting of the women to be those of exceptional actress--not just another pretty face. Women such as Kate Winslet or Emily Blunt. Although they have green eyes that could easily could be fixed with contacts.
How about Uma Thurman? She did play Poison Ivy in the others but that really doesn't matter does it?

I highly doubt they would consider Jim Carrey for The Riddler again. They're going more for the dark feel in The Batman series now--to convey more of particular comics.

Didn't Sarah Michelle Gellar audition for Rachel? And then it was rumored that she'd be apart of The Dark Knight and all kinds of Harley Quinn speculation began. That'd be something I'd like to see.

I do know she was being considering for the role as well as Natalie Portman. However, I'm not sure if she really did in the end audition for it.
By the way, I'm all for her trying out for Harley Quinn. Remember that wicked look she gave during the end of the First's monologue in Lessons?
I still get goosebumps from that whole scene.

I think I read it somewhere that if Robin's name comes anywhere near the scripts, both Nolan and Bale would most likely leave the project, so there's no chance for Robin to appear. Honestly, I don't want him to appear. This is about Batman and his early years, so no Robin
