Comic book series about the end of the world?

My friend from work was telling me about this comic book series but I can’t remember the name. All that I remember is that there is a group of saviors, after the end of the world (Can’t remember what from) some of the character where a father whose son might not be his .. lol that’s all I’ve got. (I would ask my friend but he was gone away for the week)...
