Has any one seen the new Buffy novel collections? They have stunning (if not a tad generic) covers. So far there are two volumes, each containing 3 novels. I bought the first one which contains Coyote Moon, Night of the Living Rerun, and Portal Through Time. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1442412097/ref=mp_s_a_10?qid=1279143910&sr=1-10they are a great addition to my collection, seeing as I have very limited space! Anyone else pick this up??

I stumbled upon these strange findings at Barnes N Noble last weekend and said to myself, "What on earh is this tom foolery?" Then I proceeded to show them to both my Buffy-fan friends and my friends who couldn't care less, hoping to be provided with information. Alas, I left the store with none of my questions answered. Now my questions have been answered and I have seen the light thanks to this thread. I bestow karma upon you, BuffyFanOne, for explaining what the hell these books are.

Hey tgic I'm glad I could help;) sooo Coyote Moon, as it turns out, is half way deacent. In fact it is more than that. Some might even say it is 3/4 of the way decent! Also, it turns out that this book can be judged by it's cover. I have owned Coyote Moon for years apon years and I never so much as cracked the spine. Now o buy it w this snazzy new cover and I am loveing it!! Who knew??

Thanks for letting us know about these book BuffyFanOne, I will be sure to order mines tomorrow. I always wished they would re-release the Buffy books in some sort of collection, so this is great. Would have loved to get the Buffy books in hardback, though that seems unlikely.

I found the first one at Walmart the other day! I saw it in the corner of my eye and probably wouldn't have turned to look if I hadn't recognized the cover (thanks to YOU, BFO. ) I'm halfway through Coyote Moon and I'm enjoying it! I don't know whether or not to look forward to Night of the Living Rerun, though. I saw it got bad reviews on Amazon.

I think that this is great! Back when these were released, I never thought these would be re-released for some reason!
I love all of the stories that they put in these and I ordered all three books. I love Night Of The Living Rerun! I haven't read Coyote moon though.
I'm actually grateful for the Twilight movie/book fad, otherwise I doubt these would be released.

I bought volume 1 from the bookstore a few weeks ago. I like the covers, though I fail to see how they have any connection to the Buffy series. The cover of the first volume, features some sort of necklace. At first I thought it was supposed to be a take on Spike's amulet (cause that would be cool). I don't think this is the case, but I like to imagine it as such anyway. I believe the second volume has a candelabra on the cover. Which brings to mind the many candles that were present in the Master's lair during S1. The third volume features a cool looking hour-glass thingy (though I haven't as yet been able to make any connection between this image and the Buffyverse ). People suspect that these images were selected to appeal to the "Twilight generation," which I am inclined to agree with. It would have been nice if the covers featured images of the characters, etc., but hey, if these books bring in a new wave of Buffy fans than I can't complain. Plus, it is nice to have several novels in one.

I think this thread was a great idea. We can use it to discuss the books as we all read through them together. The re-release has made it possible to have somewhat of a Buffy book club on SA

Wonder if licensing issues prevented the publisher from using the actual logo as well. If I knew how much demand there was for the Buffy novels, I'd have told my mom to keep them so that I could make a pretty penny. Alas, I think she got rid of them during her last move (I wasn't involved with that move since I was away from home).

Really reissues? That's great to know, I'm gonna be laid up for about a month and can use some new reading material that's fun. I was just planning on reading S8 and S6 over again. Also if really interested in finding childhood memories , check out your local used bookstore. I know mine has tons of Buffy and Angel novels, cheap too! I just didn't want to get involved in stories that weren't canon. Are they? Is that snobby of me?

^^ No. The novels aren't considered canon, but many of them are actually quite good nonetheless.
