Aussie fans are probably going to appreciate this the most.
It's an adaptation of the first book of the Tomorrow series, written by Aussie author John Marsden (there are seven books in all). I grew up reading these books and while I'm a little iffy on some of the casting choices for the movie, I'm still looking forward to it.
A lot of haters on Youtube are whingeing about how it's a rip-off of Red Dawn and saying things like "Aussies are pathetic, they can't come up with anything original". But, I don't know, every movie these days mirrors something else. I just hope that they stay true to the books, which are really, really good.

I am surprised it has taken this long to finally do the series. I read them in high school (first book for school and the rest for fun) and I quite enjoyed them. I had forgotten about them until I first heard about the movie

Red Dawn was not terribly original to begin with, so let 'em hate. This looks interesting!

The trailer looks really good.
I only read the first two books, and it was a while ago, but I'm thinking I might try to revisit them if I get the time.

Never heard of the books. I think the movie sounds a bit... Corny? But maybe I'm wrong. Might check it out, if it gets good reviews.
