I really look forward to getting past Willingham's run, and if the initial feedback to the new team of writers is positive, I think I will give the main series one last chance. Mariah Huehner sounds like she understands the characters and the universe, so she could be able to turn things around. Right now I'm really hoping for them to wrap the stupidity of Willinghams run at once and move on to better things, and only keep Eddie Hope and Laura Kay Weathermill around. Ohh-and possibly Willingham could end his run by killing off Dez. That what redeem him a little in my eyes... Amen. I agree with this so much. ;D

I liked it, not loved it. He's doing a great job on building up to a strong plotline. Other than that, the series does need fresh writers; judging by the interview, Mariah makes some excellent points and gave me a great deal of positivity towards the series like I never had before. And I do agree that no matter what they do, I sincerely hope they keep Laura and Eddie on the team. Those characters are the best addition to the Angel series in a long time and cannot wait to see how they develop.

Is it me or are the title names for these issues making less and less sense with each one? We got Prophet for Profit chapter 3 of connorland twice in a row, I wonder if we're going three for three with this issue.

I actually really enjoyed that preview. I read #37, and was 'meh' about it, but these pages are pretty... Good. I loved Spike using the 'Let's go to work' line. And Angel's reaction was great. The shot of Spike, Laura, Gunn, and Kate barging in was a favorite shot of mine. It gave me that epic feeling. ;D Although the art is iffy at times, I think it's fairly good. And I still adore most of the coloring. It's very smudged looking, which I think it a good look for Angel. Things are looking up. I think I'll go back, and read #37. Maybe even #36.

Well, that was somewhat a decent preview. Laura looks nice in different clothing and seems to like her guns like Kate. Spike plays football with the talking rock, which is nice. And Spike really seems to like his katanas, doesn't he? Oh and Wesley cameo! Well, his legs anyway

Thanks!
Now THAT is what I wanted from the last issue.Art is back to looking good again-I'm guessing a new colourist too cos it looks much livelier and full.
Great "Angel" dialogue, nice action beats and Angel being Angel.Me happy:-)
Bodes very well for the last arc.(Could I *be* more excited for that btw:-))
---------------- So things havnt gone so well it seems judging by the 1st panel.Wonder why Angel is all beat up and defeated looking?
Great to see Gunn back in the fray wit AI as well-although I really wish we could see a convo between him and Angel.I think there will be with Connor and Gunn in the next arc, but I don't think Angel and Gunn have shared a panel together since After the Fall except for one in the Lorne special.Hopefully we will see something (even a line) in the Eddie Hope story.
Speaking of is next week the last Eddie Hope story? _________________

Speaking of is next week the last Eddie Hope story? It would seem that way since Mariah and David have omitted him from every discussion about the final arc. That being said I'm probably the only one who would want this but in the last months of Idw having Angel's license I wouldn't mind seeing him having a mini dedicated to him that maybe puts his character to rest or at least leaves his story with a more decent conclusion since I dont think thats possible with 3 pages at the end of 38.

I remember reading that Bill Williams had written Eddie stories up to issue 44, but the plans had to be scrapped because the licence was moving.I guess the plan was to have him join AI once Spike moved off to his own ongoing-but we'll never know.
Pity-I liked the big blue guy, and would have liked to see how his way of dealing with villains clash with Angels.Would have made for some interesting stories.

Maybe IDW can keep the rights to that character and have Bill Williams start his own Eddie series? I'd buy.

It would suck tho because when the rights revert, an Eddie story wouldnt be able to refer to any joss stuff so he'd be in LA but thatd be about it.

So? That's where the actual writing comes in. Perhaps they can get permission to make references to After the Fall and show scenes/scenarios from a different perspective since Eddie never interacted with any of the Angel characters until way after LA reverted. And even then, he mostly has connections with Spike and Gunn . I think an Eddie series can work w/o explicit Agelverse input.

I'd for sure read an Eddie Hope Ongoing. I mean, I don't even know his personality or character all too well, and I like him a lot already. He looks awesome, and has super cool ice powers! And a tail! He has a tail! And horns! Anyone with those is pretty awesome. And if Laura gets left out of the DH move, I'd love to see her in some way, as she's pretty interesting too.

I believe there is one last Eddie Hope back up story after this month's and then we're done.
