It's a nice tribute to both Andy and Lorne.

I really enjoyed this. Not even considering how special of a tribute to Andy this was, I really enjoyed the story first and foremost. It felt like an episode of the show, and watching Lorne go out (temporarily) as such a hero was great. That last panel of Lorne, jumping to his potential end with such a huge smile on his face was pitch perfect. I was really happy to see Groo featured as well, considering the amount of stuff Mark Lutz provided for this issue.
Speaking of, this issue had some great stuff about Andy. Mark Lutz and Chris Ryall both shared their thoughts (Mark about their friendship and Chris about the desire to pay tribute), and it all cumulated into a really sweet and touching tribute. The pictures were all fantastic (most, if not all provided by Mark personally) too.
I'm happy IDW put this together, and I'm sure Andy's family will be very touched by it.

I agree with you about the stuff at the end Wyn. I actually didn't know Mark and he were so close until after I read this and saw the vacation pics.
I really wouldn't be to sad if this was Lorne's last appearance bc the way they handled it was really beautiful and it wouldn't snub Andy or Lorne if Lorne goes out hero.

Just finished reading the comic and it made me cry. Found it a beautiful and touching tribute both to Andy and Lorne.

So did IDW retire the Lorne character in this issue?

Not forever, but they felt it necessary to give him a rest in light of Andy's passing.

Hi, I'm a tottally freak pasion fan of Lorne, but I live in Argentina, so I don't have acces to this comic, could somebody bo so nice to scan it and upload it somewere? (and then leave the link in this forum).
Just to remove this torture from my heart, could anybody tell me if he end up well by the end of this issue.
Thank you soo much.
P.d.: When do you think he'll be coming back?, I, personally, be counting the days.

Unfortunately we can't condone that on the forum, as that would be taking sales away from IDW (providing something for free that others have to buy). If someone felt inclined to send you a link through PM or something, then that's nothing we can control, but any links posted in this thread will have to be deleted. As for when Lorne might return, the issue and Ryall didn't leave any clues, although Lorne is "always watching" now, similar to Cordy in early Season 4 of Angel.

Just read this...
This is the first comic to make me tear up. I'll admit it, I even let a few tears out while reading the extras. I smiled bunches throughout this issue. It felt like a true episode of the show. This will have to be my favorite Angel issue as of now. <3 It's so brilliant and beautiful...

It's so hard to describe how much this issue touched each of us. This is the injection that Angel comics needed after Lynch left.
The way you could imagine it on screen. The way Angel offered to sacrifice himself but instead Lorne did. It Honestly reminded me of the episode "Hero" but in such a way that it wasn't repetition but more of a reminder that no matter what role you play whether it's vampire ensouled champion or Ex Demon Karaoke bar owner from Pylea or Half Brachan demon Half Irish, You can be a Hero when it counts.

The long and short of it is that there is an evil force trying to destroy the earth...again. Angel, Lorne, Groo, and Illyria fight against it as best they can but the Evil force causes and imbalance that if left unchecked would not only destroy the earth or universe but all universes. The only way to set the balance striaght is... if I read this correctly because it's not infront of me... Leap into a portal/gateway/gap to the center of the earth that once inside would set the balance striaght. Angel offers to do it but Lorne pushes him aside and leaps into it saying he knew this was coming and when he goes through the portal/hole closes and everything is fixed. At the end Angel and the gang are asking each other if Lorne is really gone but in one of the narrator boxes (the ones where someone is talking but not in front of the other characters) Lorne says he can hear the mand their kind words are just what he wanted to hear.

you should. The cost is more than a regular issue, Like 7.99, but Chris ryall says in the back of the book that Andy Hallet's family wanted the extra proceeds to go to the Red Cross to help efforts in Haiti and that IDW is complying with those wishes.

Finally got this yesterday. I really enjoyed it. IDW and Byrne did a great job paying tribute to Andy, and Mark Lutz's stuff was very touching. It is clear how much he was loved by everyone he crossed paths with.

Wozah, I don't really make comments but with this issue i had to. 1st of all brilliant story would of made a great episode a real 'your welcome' moment. I would of loved a buffy 'live for me' sort of speech, the whole issue just gave me a warm fuzzy moment, Also marks words at the back and the pictures were a beautiful tribute.

Gotta echo what's already been said - great story, great art, beautiful send-off for Lorne and for Andy.
