That's great news. I guess I'll have to pick this up along with the new Buffy issue.
This story, for me, makes up for the disappointing A: Aftermath issues. Too bad Blood & Trenches is only four issues.

Looks really nice. If a nice collected is put together, I'll buy this for sure.

John Byrne recently gave an interview with Newsrama, and it's a pretty good read. Click here!Oh and he also mentions an upcoming Angelus on-shot for Halloween and possible Spike project down the line (sounds like it could be a one-shot as well). Considering how awesome B&T is, I definitely want Byrne to stick around and write more stuff.

Yes! More Angel/Byrne! Thanks Wyndam. I'm so glad this is out at the moment as I've been less than whelmed by Aftermath. The writing in B&T is great and the art knocks my socks off. I haven't got my copy of #3 yet, sadness, it's annoying that we get comics a day later over here. *sighs* I've been getting the incentive sketch covers as they're so much pretty and more in keeping with the interiors. Plus, the colouring on issue #2 really bugged me, I did not like it. Can't wait till #3 arrives (and Buffy #25!).

Ya I look forward to this so much every month. I think that Byrne needs to write a long arc for the main story. And draw it. And colour it.

Thanks for posting! Loving the harsh reds in the preview. Added to the first post! Now all we need is the black and white cover for issue #4 and the first post will be all updated with covers and previews for this mini-series.

Cover and solicitation for the TPB: ANGEL: BLOOD AND TRENCHES
Written, art and cover by John Byrne.
In Europe, war ravages nations, but a greater darkness than human conflict calls Angel back across the ocean from his distant home in Americaóbodies of combatants found drained of blood, and signs of an ancient evil once more abroad in the world. An untold tale of Angel's WWI exploits!
104 pages, black and white, $17.99. Set for release in September. The price suggests and TPB, so I will probably just wait for this to be included in the next Angel: Omnibus before I buy it. Already have the individual copeis.

Shame it's not a HC. I'll be checking this out in September regardless.

The TPB should be out this Wednesday, according to the list of titles made available to comic stores. It's also showing up with Wednesday's date on TFAW's site. The other week, Chris Ryall mentioned on his blog that the interior pages would use the same paper stock as the individual issues. That's great, as I've been waiting for the TPB too!

Hmm, I saw the TPB at my store today, but I didn't get it. Doesn't look like my type of 'thing'. xD
