Now this is a must-have, such an amazing idea. Halloween and Angelus? I'm expecting something terrifying, disgusting and bloody.

Byrne has been doing a great job with Blood and Trenches, so I expect a lot from this!

Some further info. This will be set in 1801. Angel was cursed by gypsies in 1898. Funsies.

John Byrne. Why does that name sound so familiar?
The cover is great although it took me a while to take in everything.
EDIT: 4:49pm
Blood and Trenches, now I remember! I love his work!

Happened across some info on this, which I think is gonna be announced on Saturday, and it's very cool. I originally thought what I saw was for a whole different one-shot, but after taking another look at this cover, it's definitely for this. Byrne is the perfect writer to tackle this kinda story. This NEEDS to get the same paper as "Blood and Trenches."

It's been up in Previews for a while. Angel vs. Frankenstein.

That sounds awesome. Not something I expected. I thought it'd be Angelus terrorizing some girl or something Michael Myers-style. But Angelus coming face to face with Frankenstein sounds too good. The black and white will work great for this.

Haha. I don't know. I just assumed since Byrne is doing it. I didn't read it, but wasn't Blood & Trenches in black and white?

Yeah, but he's done work for Angel titles and otherwise in full color. Blood and Trenches was the first time he shot from pencils, so it was a really original thing. It hasn't been said if he'd do it for this, but it would definitely work. I hope not, though, as the style is so specific to Blood and Trenches and I'd really like to see some of his art get the full color treatment.

Here's the solicitation info (found at tfaw.com) and an updated, colored version of the cover: Writer/artist John Byrne returns to Angel for this special one-shot featuring a new spin on a classic horror confrontation. Out of darkness and nightmare he comes for what he claims is rightfully his-but Angelus is there before him. Two legendary monsters. One goal. Who will claim the prize?
32 pages, $3.99Looks like it will have regular and virgin retailer incentive covers.
