im starting to think that IDW is going to create a 3 issue saga for each and every angel episode, which would be 330 issues! now i know that they probly wont do that, I still wount be buying any of these tv to paper issues, well unless they do one that has Doyle in it, but thats not the point, is anyone with me on this?

Lol,I find it highly unlikely that IDW would do that. That would require years and years of work, lots of artists, writers, etc. I think Smile Time and NFA will be it. I could see them doing a few other big episodes from Season 5 (Your Welcome, A Hole in the World, etc.), but that'd probably be it. I am sure Smile Time has been a decent seller, because it is Angel, but I doubt it has sold enough to warrant over 300 more issues.

You're missing something.
People buy the issues for sure, as Smile Time #1 sold out. Comic companies have been adapting movies for decades, and people have been buying them for just as long. For those that don't care about adaptations, though, there are even brand new scenes thrown in. Angel and Spike have a particularly cool exchange in #1 that was never in the episode.

Yeh why do they do that. Do people actually buy the issues. It's like me writing a story about a vampire with a soul a half demon who gets visions and a struggling actress who helps the helpless and passing it off as my idea. I know that it is made pretty obvious that they are just comic adaptions of the show but still...it's like burning money. Or am I missing something here?? At least in my case, I will buy anything that supports Angel. While episode adaptations aren't the most thrilling or exciting releases, they do have some cool features, like Pat said. Another thing that I liked doing with Smile Time #1, was watching the episode and going along with the comic to see which scenes, and what character actions in those scenes, influenced Tipton's work the most. It was fun. The extra scene was definitely a great bonus as well.

I'm sure they'll be put out, collected versions always come out. I saw a solicit that looked pretty official on Amazon.com for a "Smile Time" hardcover that featured Smile Time, Masks, and Shadow Puppets. That would be cool.
