Is it just me, or did they spell "hart" as "heart"? It looks right in the thread title, but not in the issue info. Anyway, I think this arc will be interesting, nonetheless. The cover looks great too!

It's not just you vampslayer, it's either a typo or an elaborate ruse.

From what I understand, this entire series will lead into Season Eight. I think it was stated somewhere that Darkhorse won't contradict the story being told. That said, this series is pretty much canon.

Probaly way to early to ask this, but is this a continuation of the current IDW Angel stories? I ask this because I stopped reading after AFT when IMO the series stopped being canon so im completly out of loop on current storylines... Not sure if i should pick up the current hardcovers to catch up (i hear some are not very good) Or just wait until this series is out?

Not sure if i should pick up the current hardcovers to catch up (i hear some are not very good) Or just wait until this series is out? This is a continuation, from where After the Fall left off. This issue though takes place sometime after The Fall issues, so it'd be best to read issues 18-38 before reading this one. 18-38 is debatable canon, since Joss isn't involved with it at all. If you're looking to get caught up, you should pick up volumes 1-6. Volumes 5 and 6 are Post-After the Fall. Volume 5, AKA Aftermath, isn't very good at all, but Volume 6 is pretty spectacular(It's written by the After the Fall writer, Brian Lynch). There's also a new Volume Hard Cover, containing issues 28-32, but it's labeled as Volume '1' for some reason. That Volume is decent, but some fans have problems with it. The current issue arc is still ongoing, so that Hard Cover isn't out yet. Hope I helped out some.

Thanks heaps!! I think i may sit this one out. Its all a bit to convoluted for me! I much prefer the way Dark Horse have done Buffy with one creative force behind the story. Much more cohesive. Looking forward to the Spike ongoing, Brian Lynch is fantastic. Does the Illyria series coming out follow on from the 'Only Human' storyline?
Sorry, this probaly isnt the right place to be asking these questions : S

Illyria's series will most likely touch on her development as a whole, since After the Fall started. I doubt it is a direct sequel to Only Human, though.

Sorry, this probaly isnt the right place to be asking these questions : S Willingham's run ==> Wolf, Ram, and Hart arc ==> Season Eight The Illyria series is supposed take place after Willingham's run, possibly during the Wolf, Ram, and Hart arc. As for Only Human, it takes place during Aftermath. To date, Only Human has not been referenced in the main series.

Okay, if I were to start back on the Angel train with this new arc, does that mean I have to read Willingham's run? Are these two arcs connected?
(Please don't tell me they are)

Everything's connected, in some way. That said, I highly doubt, if something becomes unclear having not read the past few arc's, that it will be so big that you want to run out and read them.

I'm sad that this is the last IDW arc-but I know that this is going to epic.
And in regards to the dreaded C word-I think that all this stuff is 'in continuity' and doubt any of it will be contradicted by DH neither will it be hugely referenced. Therefore those fans (like me) who wish these stories to 'matter' they can-but those who don't can ignore them.
Can we all afree on that compromise?

Yeah, that's pretty much how it's going to be. After the Fall and Spike will be the official IDW canon whereas everything else main-title related is simply in continuity. That's about all we're ever going to get to official word on everything.
Of course others have a different idea about this, but I imagine this is the best middle ground.

Oh a middle ground would be great:) Let them count for the people that want them and not for the people that dont. I never said this - but that cover is amazing. I just can't wait for this arc to begin - but am sad that it is going to be the last:( It will be great to have W&H back and judging by the cover of #40 we might be getting some back story to where the name came from.
