Afternoon all, or morning or night, wherever you are I've recently started reading a whole lot more Buffy( I had been reading mostly Grey's Anatomy, Harry Potter and Twilight, but I need to go back to my Buffy roots ) fanfics and I remember that a while ago I had read an alternate season 8 ( and now I can't find it ) and they even progressed into season 9, they created their own website for it and it was brilliant and I would like to re-read it. So if anyone has any idea's could you please put in the link. ;D & If anyone has any other awesome alternate season 8 I would love to read them Thankies

I seem to remember a good Spike/Angel one. Unfortunately I wasn't open-minded enough to read that, but it was good work.
If you don't mind Femmeslash, I can warmly recommend Barnabas.C's Dawn-centric fic American girls. It's on ff.net. There's also a series called Compelled to play~ The basic storyline there is that Illyria goes back to season 7 of Buffy, changes a few things and takes the whole war on evil to crazy new levels. I

I Curious. How do you know it was good work if you didn't read it? I don't mind femslash at all. Lots of good fics in that, not all of them porn. Are there some people who don't like it? Back to the main point ... I do have a suggestion for an alternate S8. Suppose the powers of the new slayers fade over time? They aren't as special now. The vampires are fewer, but maybe tougher. Willow's big spell begins to backfire. It does seem to be there must be some consequence for Willow's spell, right? And we could pick Dawn being the Key again. Not sure how.

To respond to your questions, I did read a few chapters of it and concluded that it was good. And I'm sure there's a bunch of straight girls out there who don't fancy reading femmeslash, just as a lot of straight guys don't want to read slash.
On the season 8 thing. Personally I think it was a great idea to up the scales of the war against evil. I'd love to write a great epic fic, but after reading the Compelled to play verse (Once more, seriously, check it out) I just cannot. It's a bit like thinking "Hey, I wanna write a story about this quest... a fantasy story" and then reading Lord of the Rings. Kinda knocks the wind outta you.
But if you wish to focus more on characters and relationships, it would probably be simpler to have a smaller scale season 8.
