I read the Immortality for Dummies arc for the first time just a few hours ago, but a big WTF moment didn’t hit me until just now:
How does Gunn know about Connor? In his rant when he made it clear that Connor didn’t have any right to judge him, he seemed to remember the Connor events of season 4 pretty clearly. Since I’m too lazy to re-read the entire series and see if there’s a clear answer, anyone want to explain to me how Gunn knew about Connor? Or reacted to finding out Angel had a son in Atf? Or is that for the reader to guess?
I don’t recall Lorne being all “Angel’s got a son!?!” in Atf either. Any chance they all got their memories back when Connor did, in First Night?
I really hope I don't have to fanwank this, and that there's a explanation.

I remember being confused by this during After the Fall. I think Brian Lynch said that the Senior Partners returned everyone's memories when they went to hell... I guess to make Connor a target? It's a bit confused. Doesn't Spike recognise him immediately as Angel's son in Spike: AtF? He only met Connor for 2 minutes in "Origin", how would he even know Angel had a son?

I thought the spell was reversed by Wesley in "Origin". And I assume Spike would recognize Connor either by memory or scent.

Wasn't it stated in First Night that everyone remembered Connor? The demons that caught Connor suddenly knew he was Angel's son and I assumed that the Senior Partners lifted the spell and allowed everyone to remember/know that Connor is Angel's son in order to hit harder at Angel
And yeah, Spike would know who Connor is from his scent

Jay, the spelled only let those in the room remember, which means that only Wesley and Illyria got their memories back (I assume Illyria got more of Fred's memories back, or had remembered since she "woke up").
I guess Spike could have smelled that Connor was Angel's son, but I don't think he had time to smell him, he just saw him and went "Hey, isn't that Angel's kid?" as if he recoginzed him. (not exact quote, I just checked). Maybe he had seen him in passing before, or had been told by Illyria that the kid from Origin was Angel's son. There' didn't seem to be any smelling involved, but maybe he meet him on the street in Hell before and smelled? Or he got who Connor was in Origins. But maybe the memory spell messed with Connor's scent, to make sure that vampires couldn't know who he was, so Spike didn't get who he was then (or he was to busy getting his ass kicked to notice).
Someone who has recently read Atf and can refreshen ours memories? Otherwise I'm willing to buy that the senior partners put everyones memories back. I suppose I could read First Night later and check.

There are a lot of things that I do not understand Connor's. In "ATF" what happened to the parents of Connor? They never talked about Reillys?

Yes, in AtF, everyone's memories are restored. Especially Connor's. He remembers shit that happened to him even when he was first born.

I always thought everyone got their memories back in "Origin" in Season 5. Wes smashes the orb holding the spell, therefore the spell is broken. Why would it only affect the people in the room?
I figured the rest of Team-Angel (basically Gunn & Lorne) remembered Connor and so on too, it just wasn't necessary to show it onscreen Gunn- "Oh yeah, Angel has a son. Anyway..."
