What's your favorite fanfiction site and why is it your favorite? What's good about it and what needs improvement? You can answer that question in a post below now or continue reading to know more why I'm asking. I aim to make a Buffy/Angel fanfiction and poetry site that will blow your mind. It will be huge, fast, easy to navigate, have a great search engine(something like this archive.shriftweb.org/cgi-bin/search.cgi) be pretty and easy to add stories/poetry and reviews to. But I need a software to set all this up, since I don't know that much about HTML and doubt I have the time or will to learn everything I need to know to make this site happening. So I'm looking for one of those, which can be very hard. I'm currently looking into efiction and dreamweaver to see if that software has what I want. If you guys have any advice to share, that would be great. Or just post a link to your favorite fanfiction site and I will take a look see and learn from them.

The numero uno fanfiction site for me is FanFiction.Net. I know no other site better than this one. So easy to navigate and there are millions of fics to choose from.
As for program writing, I suggest going with Dreamweaver, which from what I can remember, is fairly alright to learn to use, though there are some parts that can be a little tricky

Thanks for the answer.
fanfiction.net is good, but their search alternatives aren't that good. Better than some, but it doesn't give that narrow searches. There's still a lot of browsing needed to find the good stuff.
I checked out dreamweaver and as a lazy newbie, I got scared very fast. It does seem like a great tool for someone who actually wants to learn html though.

I echo the fanfiction.net love. I only really use that site. I even upload my own stuff to it. (I know, I'm totally screaming, "Look me up!" with that sentence. )

lol. What kinds of fics do you write? I only really write in the Whedonverse. And I think I enjoy writing Dollhouse fics the most, or anything with Illyria (Who I could write for constantly! She really flows out of me, I think.) If you want, here's a LINK to my Fanfiction.net profile. Take a lookie, and maybe leave a comment there? Or HERE. (And I'm totally sorry for taking over this thread. )

That's cool, I asked after all.
I'm not in the mood for a fic right now, but when I am, I'll check them out.

....anyhow, forget my emo moment that I'm having right now. Dreamweaver is good for writing up html. It's actually how I started out writing html and now I use the good ole Notepad...though I only really do basic stuff now, like updating my story list every time I finish writing one....I haven't done much html since year 12

I LOVE fan-fiction! I stumbled upon it when i started having Willow/Tara withdrawals after watching season 6 and realizing there would be no more actual moments between the two on screen. I needed my Willow/Tara fix!! lol Through the Looking-glass has a major archive of Willow/Tara fiction to any of those who are interested. There's a lot of uber-fic in it just so you know. @vampslayer I read your "A Dying Willow Tree" fic just now. Thought it was great!....in a very dark depressing way. lol, I like how you twisted the s6 story line ever so slightly and how that little change affected everything. I wish you would have finished it. Also the only constructive criticism I can give you is that I noticed a few grammar errors and misspelled words. But yeah, other than that, it was great!

I swear by fanfiction.net, it's fantastic. And, since I prefer reading fics on my iPod Touch, they have a handy mobile version that I'm very thankful for.

Ooh yeah, I thought that was pretty cool how they've done that. Though, I don't have a mobile that can't do that. I thought the coolest feature they unveiled was the crossover thing. Now that was pretty awesome.

^ Aaah, yes, the crossovers are amazing and oh-so fun to read. I'm thinking of writing one myself, sometime soon...

I've already written a handful of crossovers: Buffy/Supernatural, Buffy/Mortal Kombat, Legacy of Kain/Devil May Cry, LoK/BloodRayne, LoK/Resident Evil and I think a few others...I love crossovers. So fun to write

My favourite is fanfiction.net because the "search" and "narrow search" functions are so easy to use, but I must say trudging throught the fanfic archives on www.allaboutspike.com can be VERY rewarding.

BE, you ever heard of a Spike-centri fanfic site called 'The Crypt'? It's at www.the-crypt.com. Person who runs it actually emailed me one day, asking if she can post my Spike/Illyria fics there, to which I happily obliged. It's not like every day that happens to me

After some google action I figured out that it might be www.the-crypt.net/ instead of .com. Does that look like the site, Night Lord? Oh, and congrats about getting your story picked up. That's pretty cool! ;D I love Spike, so I'm usually reading stuff at Elysian Fields (http://dark-solace.org/elysian/index.php), The Spuffy Realm (http://www.spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/), Nocturnal Light (http://www.nocturnal-light.net/). I'm not so keen on the new counter on Spuffy Realm, but I love the PDF option. It makes it so much easier to save stories to read on the go. All About Spike (http://www.allaboutspike.com/) doesn't get updated anymore, but it has some really great stuff from the past. Very well organized archive. There's one major one that a friend of mine loves but I can't remember the name of it, but can sort of picture the main page in my head. It's blue and black... ah okay it's The Bloodshedverse (http://www.bloodshedverse.com/). I don't frequent this site much as I find it kind of hard to navigate.
