www.usatoday.com/life/comics/2010-11-08-serenity08_ST_N.htmDid anyone else read the 1st part of this today? It's so nice to get back on the good ship Serenity - but damn I wish they would just make a monthly, or at least a more regular comic. Little snippets like this are just not enough. Part 2 will be up tomorrow (the last 4 pages)

Love it! Great interaction between the characters from the very beginning. Agree that this is just not enough to fill my Firefly/Serenity void!

I loved it! ;D Part Two is out BTW. The final scene, between River and Book, was great. I could easily hear their voices in my head. That was so brilliant, that scene. I wish we could have gotten more between those two; Their Bible debates were a favorite of mine. "[The Bible] is broken... It doesn't make sense." I wasn't a fan of the art, not too much. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fantastic either. I can say that this is my favorite Serenity comic so far. It just felt so... Homey. It didn't really have a theme, it just showed the characters we all love interacting. (Yes, this even beats Shepard's Tale, even though I loved that as well!) Zack has a great handle on these characters; Especially River, Book, Mal, Simon, and Jayne. (Almost everyone. xD) I was amazed at how well Mal was written. And Simon and Jayne were pretty spot on as well. If there are any Jayne/Simon shippers out there, I think they'll get a kick out of this comic.

That last exchange between Book and River definitely connects up with the "Shepherd's Tale" comic.
I thought this was cool. Although I can't really picture Inara saying "Aw, man" and I don't think I ever heard Mal say "youse." Did he ever say "youse" on the show? That's more city slang and he's a country boy.

I was going to write something about the, "Aw, man," line, but I figured it was just me being picky. Looks like it wasn't just me after all. And yeah, the final exchange was an awesome way to connect it to Sheperd's Tale. I wonder why it wasn't just released within that HC? I mean, it's written by the same author, and even gives a little nod to the story of Book.

I'll bet the "aw, man" line was supposed to be Kaylee, but the word balloon got pointed at the wrong person.
I assume Dark Horse is working on a fourth volume of Serenity comics, following "Those Left Behind," "Better Days" and "The Shepherd's Tale." It will probably have the "Float Out" one-shot, this webcomic, and either another one-shot or a couple more webcomics.

I think I read one before on the DH Myspace page, or something.

But perhaps it'll also be collected in the new volume, should it happen.

Wow! Oh my god. Wow! This is so cool! It's as if they got the actual actors to play it out and then for some reason decided to release it in comic form instead of video! I wish the next time they did something so dumb... it wouldn't be so sweet. (I just wanted a reason to use that line. )

I just finished my big Firefly/bridging comics/Serenity rewatch.
Why oh why will they not release post-Serenity comics?I moss these people so much:-( I was actually sad at the end of Serenity. We have had comics released set during the show...but I want to see where they are after the film.I want to see how the events of the film impacted on the gang.
'Float Out' doesn't count cos we only got to see Zoe for a few panels!

That line is so great. </3 Probably one of the best parts in any Serenity comics so far. Funny thing is I completely forgot about the 'shippiness of that whole sequence when I read that line - I was just glad they'd all be together. Miserable as ever, but together.

It's called The Other Half, and yes, it was published in MySpace Dark Horse Presents. As wenxina pointed out, it's been published in one anthology and may probably be collected in another soon enough.
