Solicit sounds cool but not really loving the bootylicious cover. This isn't a Psylocke comic. I wonder if "altered" Illyria will look anything like the time-jump-future-Illyria we glimpsed in Spike: After the Fall?

If i'm not mistaken this is the issue Illyria returns from her mini series and the solicicts for the last issue of Illyria's mini plus some hints from Mariah Huehner suggest Illyria is going to be different post her mini. My guess is this is a reference to that which is awsome Because It'll make her mini series more significant. Also Kinda curious to see if Spike pops in before the end of the main title even tho his series will still be going after Angel ends.

I thought that because Angel is in the future, "altered" Illyria would refer to her future state. But it could be either I suppose. Yeah, it'd be nice to get some closure to Spike etc in the main Angel title but it's no big deal if we don't.

Woh, where has this plot summary been?!
It sounds AMAZING. Having Illyria in the future with Angel is kickass and brilliant! I bet she'll be very humanized. I'm psyched. ;D

Methinks that Illyria's character will be retired.

Methinks that Illyria's character will be retired. Yea In the back of my mind I thought this too. I mean she hasn't been in the verse too too long and Tho I loves her It wouldn't surprise me to have her written out to propel Angel to his future at DH.

That's a possibility that hasn't occured to me.
It does make one wonder what state Angel's world will be in post-Twilight. All depends on next issue of Season 8 I suppose.
Like will Connor, Gunn, Illyria etc be involved? Will he go back to LA? Will they all get their own storyline not related to Buffy, or will they be dragged into this big 'Season 9' plot?

The million dollar question is to what extent will Angel retain his anonymity?

Judging by Season 8...it doesn't look good does it?
I'm struggling at the moment because this last arc from IDW looks like a good place to jump off.But I don't want to lose the character of Angel, so while there are stories being written with him in them...I will buy.
I just have to terms with the idea that his time in LA might be up.As we saw in issue 39-it was the last time they all fought together.

Runge's cover for #42: He also wrote some about it on his blog.
