this is my favorite comic so far. I can't wait until the next one comes out, almost a whole month, how can I ever wait that long. the rest of the arc should be awesome. I'm so happy that this comic turned out so well, Faith is my favorite character.

Just like CowboyGuy and Rogue Slayer, this is my favourite issue yet. Agree that the likeness of Faith is a bit off, but the characterisation, dialogue, interaction is absolutely first class. Giles was pitch perfect as well, except for the dodgy yellow submarine jumper. Giles and Faith are two of my favourite characters so it's fantastic to see them pairing up in a story. Lady Genevieve seems like a suitably despicable character. I'm really looking forward to the next issue. The 'Fox Hunting' scene was genuinely shocking. Am waiting to see how many more British stereotypes we get in this series........ Oh and by the way, check out my 'correct' english spelling

Hey Mikey,
I'm sorry you didn't like it so much. Willow is my favourite character too, so I am really hoping she has her own fantastic storyline soon.
Still stands that I think this is the best episode yet, looks like it's panning out to be great story telling whereas the first arc was a bit too confusing to hang together

I really liked this first part! It was great to see Faith and Wood again and to see Giles and Faith talking. The beginning with her sitting at the top of the statue was cool and the rope swing was cool too. I also noticed that Faith said "exes", so I guess nothing ever cam out of their relationship, but I didn't think that it would, Faith's always been a loner. The bit with the vamp kids was cool. We've never seen a big group of them like that in the Buffyverse before. Lady Genevieve Savidge seems like a cool villain. The fact that that Irish warlock has her hunt and kill humans like that is just madness! But it's a cool storyline, and the warlock had a book with the twilight symbol on it. When Faith stabbed Giles and they had that talk about Giles' past, I thought that was a nice way for them to find that they have a bit in common. Buffy and Xander's talk was nice to see in this issue. I just don't want them to get together, I think that they are better off as friends, although seeing as he's the only guy Buffy sees everyday then I don't blame her since she said it's been a "slow year". And hearing about Buffy's dream was cool. The end with Faith in that green dress was funny, with Giles lowering his glasses saying "five by five" as he looked at her. Loved it lol. And did anyone else see the 2 people that were standing by a telephone box that looked like The Doctor and Rose? I thought that was funny lol! This is a fantastic start to the arc, love it! Bring on October 3rd!

Regarding Faith stabbing Giles...anyone else curious about Faith's flashback? I don't have it with me right now, but from what I remember the gist I got from is that Faith may have been abused at some point. The flashback was one of the kids vamps grabbing her, calling her a worthless whore. I guess staking kids and being called a worthless whore really got to her.

I was confused about that part too Mikey. But I figured it was like Hitnrun said, one of the vamp kids. It was confusing though. I found this issue alot easier to follow than the first four. I just did NOT know what was going on. I still have no idea what this Twilight thing is. I must re-read them. I loved the Buffy/Xander scene, it was too cute. But some Willow would have been nice. The whole gang together. And the Captain Ron reference? CLASSIC. Plus Faith is all Batman now. Awesome.

I think she's definitely being manipulated by the warlok, which I also believe is supposed to be her Watcher. Which would be weird since she'd be the only Slayer with a Watcher. Is that even online? It's at the end of each issue. Joss says he forgot that the First became Warren. LMAO. Mine too! Especially the tons of dialogue. Faith is definitely being written well. Well the first arc moved very fast, that's why it was a little confusing. I'm loving the calm before the storm with this issue. This reminds me of an interview I read in which Kirsten Beyer, the author of the soon-to-be last BtVS book wrote kid vampires into ONE THING OR YOUR MOTHER, completely forgetting that the Annointed One was a kid. I really loved this scene. This is almost exactly like a short story I had to read in English Honors last week. Who??? Although the stories in the Buffy novels are not official plots in the show, Robert Joseph Levy's GO ASK MALICE, a novel about Faith in diary-format, seems to have been recognized for this issue IMO. In it, one of Faith's foster families has a son that was sired. They have him locked away in the attic, and she goes to the attic and finds him.It was the first vamp she'd ever seen, and he was still a kid. I think that's why she was a little jumpy about the kids. OVERALL: I absolutly loved this issue! Definitely my favorite so far.

buffysmglover, look at the second-to-last page on the left hand side, theres a man and a woman standing outside a telephone box that look like The Doctor and Rose from Doctor Who. And I didn't forget about the Anointed One, I meant that we haven't seen a big group of vamp kids, have we?

I L-O-V-E-D this issue (not my fav but close) I noticed at the beginning when Faith went to kill the kids and such there was 6 but only 5 in the family photo! I liked how they had Giles where the Beatles yellow submarine XD I enjoyed the issue the writing was spot on and so was the art work.
I felt the Rouge slayer was being manipulated, i mean she seemed to be sad that she killed the other slayer, and she didn't seem to know too much about being a slayer or what she was capable of so I'm thinking the warlock 'posed' as her watcher and is turning her bad. And what the puppet were them demon things taking the body.... odd.
Aw the Buffy and Xander thing was sweet. I liked how they got him wearing the SunnyD swim team top.
I liked Faiths comment about SunnyD being a outie to an innie Classic! I still love how they keep it tru to the show and the way its written like page 9 and cell 5 where Giles head is turned and he says Slayer! Its something that i could have sen happening in the show Lotta times.
I though it was great that Dr Who and Rose where in it even if they never talked but i think they could have made the phone box Blue it would have proved it was them (unless they cant cos of copy right and all)
I was always stuck to why it was Faith that wanted to stop being all slayer mode and such i always though it would be Buffy who hanged up her stake before Faith.

I wasn't saying you'd forgotten about the Annointed One, I was just saying that your post reminded me of that interview. And I guess the reason I didn't understand who The Doctor was or who Rose was is because I've never seen one ep of Dr. Who.

I bought it first day out (though I've only now been able to post).
I loved the story, I love what they are doing with Faith's character, it feels more like her then Season 7 of Buffy did. The Giles/Faith relationship is an interesting one to pick to write about, but it really works. The two work great together and have such a similar past of evil. I liked how Giles explained "they weren't the first to be bad" and stuff.
I also enjoyed the Buffy/Xander stuff, alot nicer then I thought it would be. I really wouldn't mind if those two ended up together, and I think Angel wouldn't mind it either. The new slayer, she seems interesting. I think her and Faith will get along and this will be a great arc.
The drawing was not the best, Faith looked off the majority of the book... But its still issue one... Giles and Xander looked fine, its mostly the girls that are harder to capture...
Oh and the Doctor Who cameo was just too funny.

Did anyone understand what Faith meant when she said "No offense, Professor Turtleneck, but I kinda doubt there's much you can teach me about the wonderful world of wetworks". What did she mean by wetworks? Anyone know?

I completely disagree with Scott Allie's comments regarding Tara; a ressurection doesn't happen because it has to, it happens because it makes a good story. There was no logical reason to kill Angel or Spike and then bring them back almost immediately accept that there were still stories left to be told with those characters. And I have a hard time believing that there are no interesting stories that could result from Tara coming back from the dead.
