Probably the funniest issue so far... Between the Andrew scene, the Xander/Dracula scene, and the Willow/Satsu scene, I laughed quite a bit.

However, as the argument about mundanity juxtaposed with action goes, I think you're probably not looking hard enough, or you haven't quite found the rhythm of comic-time yet. Examples: Buffy and Xander discussing the Twilight symbol in TLWH #1 while she stuffs her face. Willow and Dawn having a conversation while picking apples (can't remember exactly when). Xander talking to Dawn while she has a bath. Xander handing her a trunk full of her clothes, bringing about her confession. Buffy training the girls, probably about the most mundane part of being the "general". Buffy and Willow chatting (and discussing business) while Willow installs the new screens around the Scotland base (#8 methinks). The party scene in #11. You're right, these are real, everyday moments that they have. But the world they live in is pretty much all about slayer business now. There's no high school society or family home life (s1-3) or college community (s4-7) or outside jobs (xander's construction work, Giles as librarian, Buffy as DP worker or counselor). There are no ties to a community outside of slayer business to balance their world. This is the balanced juxtaposition between mundanity and horror I miss. As for finding the general Buffy uninteresting, I really should have said I prefer the story when she was alone for dramatic purposes. I still find the medium and the story from the comics very interesting.

Can't argue with the fact that there is no longer any connection to the outside world. Unless Willow's got a side gig going on, when she's not in Scotland. Where the heck is she anyway, for the most part? I know there was a mention about her being in Brazil (I think) at one point, then being on a spiritual plane or something or other, but as to where she usually is when not at the castle... hmmm.
But I guess since the US gov blames Buffy for the disappearance of Sunnydale, she can't exactly waltz back there. Funny though... Dawn (before her ballooning) attended UC-Berkeley with no problems at all. Maybe Xander hangs out with the Scottish locals, doing bad Scottish brogues or something. But at least there's the possibility that he might start dating soon. Although all signs point to it being Renee, so not quite dating outside the box. These would be things that could enrich a story... so agreed there.
But I guess in retrospect, each of those social/professional realms existed for expanding character (i.e. Giles and his fuddy-daddiness, Xander discovering something he's actually really good at, Buffy's deadend job that reflected her state of mind, etc). So right now, everything's kinda focused on Slayer issues. I mean, Xander might drywall the drafty old castle to make it nice and cosy enough for nakedness and all, every once in a while, but as Buffy said, he's kinda like her Giles-lite for now.

'Course, maybe the medium limits the ability to show the characters interaction with the outside world. They don't have alot of space to show anything besides the main slayer business. Which is disappointing but understandable.

Erm... imagination be thy friend? You know, imagine your own scenarios. Make your own fun. You've a whole month in between issues to do it, so why not? I mean, I was wondering if Dawn had a giant size toothbrush or not when I first saw her. Random, I know, but oral hygiene is so under-rated.

Who is that in the final panal with the Sythe in her hand? Was that Fray? It was Kumiko. She's part of the Japanese-Vamp gang that stole the Scythe in Part 1.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how hilarious and Buffy-esque hilarious this issue was!

This issue was extreme. It has really, really funny parts. BUT, The shock ending was also really sad.
So this issue for me was "really, really"

This issue was great, but i have to say I'm so0o0o0o0o hoping that the slayers loose their powers. The whole story got old to me allot quicker than i thought it would, and to be honest i don't find Buffy that special anymore. I so miss the original Buffy when SHE was the one with the power. The characters and stories just used to be something we could relate to, but now she;s a general that lives in a castle and can time travel? Can we get the girl in a graveyard or something that represents Buffy? :vampirebite:

Good point. It is harder relating to the characters and Buffy doesn't feel as special as when she was the ONE. Maybe this is a natural evolution of the story from Buffy trying to be a normal girl to being ubergeneral of the slayer universe, but some of my favorite dramatic moments were grounded in the reality of the show. Buffy's fear over Joyce being ill and then dying, her connection to her friends, her father-daughter relationship with Giles. 'We changed the world' means that the world is different now, but the situation is one I have trouble relating to. I understood high school, going to college, having a family and working to take care of them. The castle and running a slayer army are beaucoup de foreign.

Sid came back in Chaos Bleeds and he was dead. I wish he wasn't though. He is one of my favorite characters. If he were still around I think he would add an extra something to the team...

The Buffyverse 'verse is so different, not only to the TV show, but to our reality, that it is hard to relate too. Also, many didn't like Buffy in S7 because she was too distant. It seems this continues in this season, and my hope is that it is resolved soon. Bring back the halter!! lol Lol, I think you're misusing the word "canon". Butters666: That is a really great banner!!
