I don't think this cover looks like SMG at all the face looks mushed together and such. I really like the cover other then the face of SMG its a good piece.

Buffy doesn't look good at all. I'm also not really into this whole Slayer armor thing. It just looks weird. Its a little too space age for me. Buffy was never like that. I don't really like how the comics have gone all high-tech Buffy.

I think you might be right, it does have an eerie resemblance to Kristy Swanson. Still I wish he drew her more like Sarah or maybe he tries and he just can't. Either way, I want him to stop drawing Buffy with pig tails! Ahhh! She rarely did her hair like that! Exactly! Let the hair down, Georges! I like this variant cover for issue #11. I don't mind Georges's likeness for Buffy, I think his art is pretty good. And I too like the sunset like the twilight symbol. Although it's not clear what Buffy and Satsu are doing flying in mid-air. They could be falling or jumping who knows? And maybe it will be clarified that Satsu was the person who kissed Buffy in issue #3. Can't wait to see Jo Chen's cover. I was kinda hoping they were jumping. And yes, as you can read in the '07 SDCC thread, Joss told Philip it WAS Satsu. He thought he'd made it obvious enough. Buffy doesn't look good at all. I'm also not really into this whole Slayer armor thing. It just looks weird. Its a little too space age for me. Buffy was never like that. I don't really like how the comics have gone all high-tech Buffy. I feel like that alot. I'd like to see her in normal clothes. We've seen her in jeans (in Issue 4, right?) but she was wearing a high-tech jacket thing (unless I'm mistaken. Havent read it in a while) and we've seen her in a Serenity shirt (Issue 1) but the same pants she's wearing here (right?). Put it together Georges!

I ordered a subscription of all the variants from Time and Space Toys, and all the available ones got here today. I think they're definitely "different" in terms of how Buffy looks, but overall, I like them. I think his unique style will help the comics increase in value over time.

Cover looks pretty cool. I kinda like the whole Slayer gear and such just not all the time. I can understand them wearing it on BIG UBER missions but not for a little walk into a demon nest. Other then that this issue should be a good one.

That's just the thing. Buffy survived for about eight years without all this techno and stuff. She used to be this chick who would just walk into a graveyard in go-go boots and a mini skirt, armed with a stake!
I understand that it's a comic and now Joss has freedom to upgrade things, but I think it would be cool to see Buffy do some more traditional "slayer-stuff" sometimes.

She's in charge of the single most powerful organization on earth now. Things are different.

Ah. Go go boot and mini-skirt wearing Buffy. I miss her! She got it done. I think a sexy variant cover like that would sell just as well as the futuristic ones. Maybe it can be a futuristic mini-skirt. And cool boots that are also guns or something. That would be interesting.

I realize that lol. I'm just saying it would be nice to see the Buffy we remember sometime. Willow's the only one out of her Buffy and Xander that hasn't been wearing the techno stuff. Maybe Willow will try to help Buffy realize in Issue 10 that she doesn't have to dress like she's on a mission 24/7 just to prove she's part of the team, the leader of it. Maybe this has been Joss' plan. Buffy has kind of fallen out of her element. In Issue 1, she's remembering the past through thoughts. We haven't seen her discuss her feelings to anyone. Hasn't said anything about how different her life is from a year ago. Does anyone NOT agree?

personally I think its been fine so far. the only main thing was in issue one with her wearing all the commando gear.
apart from that she has generally been in trendyish looking clothes.
I know what you guys mean about the pigtails though...they just didnt look right at all to me in the no future for you prt 1 and i ophe they dont turn into a regular thing.
But a lot of ppl seem to be laying into georges for all this stuff but I thought it was mainly the writers who say what each character looks liek etc. I know they dont go down to the smallest detail but all the dresses on willow would have been joss telling georges to draw willow in a omwf-esque tara dress....or asking buffy to be in this big gear stuff...so I dont think its really his fault.

I think Scott Allie & Joss should be progressive and be the first comic "producers" to hire a fashion consultant. Georges is obviously not up to the job.

Yeah. It's kind of weird to me to see her with all this techno stuff. She's always been so happy with just Mr. Pointy or a good edged weapon of some sort, and now she has the scythe, of course. It seems like the most high-tech thingy she ever used was the rocket launcher to take out the Judge, and that was mostly out of necessity, as nothing else would have stopped him.
I know things are REALLY different now with her being in charge of an army basically, but I would definitely like to see her back to her roots with some hand-to-hand butt whupping with minimal tech.
Kissy th' face.
