"Oh God, I never got to tell him".....-Renee Paraphrasing. But, what did she never get to tell Xander? I was thinking that she loved him. But it probably wasn't that intense, more like feelings for. That or she either wanted to tell him to add fabric softener!!!

I really enjoyed this last issue but one thing that is off, wouldn't Buffy and Willow BE with Xander just after Renee is killed? Seems a little strange.

He probably wanted to be alone seeing as he was dumping her ashes. And just because we didn't see them with him for the last what, six panels(?) doesn't mean that they just left him alone.

Well right after he dusted the vamp who staked Renee, he had Buffy to cry on..she was there for him the whole time...and I love how they played up the Dracula/Xander thing at the end...I so glad they brought that back in this season, Dracula is one of my favorite episodes from the show
and for the record, I'm sad Renee died...doesn't Xander deserve someone too? geez..
PS-Mecha-Dawn?? Awesome!! And I don't even like Dawn!!

I just re-read this episode/arc and I have to say that I really liked Renee. I thought she had a great personality and was really funny. I actually didn't want her to die re-reading the arc. =[

I just read this issue. This is my review:
Dawn/Mechadawn:Being the Godzilla fan that I am,I loved this battle.Very nostalgic.
Willow: The more we see of whatever is going on with her,the more I want to know.My personal most anticipated character story.
Xander: Loved him in this issue. The Dracula closure was a nice touch.
Buffy: I'm still not really sure about her storyline in this arc.Maybe I just expected more than what we actually got,but I found myself a little disappointed with the whole Satsu fling. On one hand,if Satsu returns at some point in S8(which I think will happen),then the way it ended in this issue would be good as it could set up some major drama(Buffy finds love,Satsu can't get over her kinda thing). On the other hand,if it really ends like that then I gotta ask myself "was there really a point to it at all"
Overall though,I'd say that this was a great issue and an excellent arc

I only got this issue the other day, ordered it late. I liked it, but I'm embarrassed to say I found it a little hard to follow at first. I'm sad Renee died, a lot of us were wondering if Willow could bring her back, so sad leaves Xander on his own again. Dracula was great in this issue. I'm not too sure how I feel about the Buffy/Satsu storyline, I just don't get it. I doubt that would actually happen in tv buffyverse and I honestly can't see it going anywhere. Will be interesting to see what Joss does with those characters. Mecha Dawn was fab, didn't expect that.

What if the opposite happens? What if Satsu returns with a new girlfriend, and Buffy surprises herself by actually getting a little jealous about it? (Which I think would be frickin' hilarious... ;D )

???Question.
Buffy died twice. Shouldnt there to anoher slayer who got her powers before willows Spell? I mean the First didnt want to kill Buffy for Faith until it had all the P. Slayers killed, so that B or F's powers wouldnt move one to another..so theree has to be a third pre-Willow spell slayer somewhere out ther

This thread isn't really the proper place for it, but to answer the question: the mojo that controlled the activation of each new slayer passed to Kendra when Buffy died the first time, then Faith when Kendra died. So, until "Chosen", the line passed thru Faith, and only her death could call a new slayer.

read the issue yesterday. made me real curious about the snake-lady. Did Willow invite the snake-lady in the last pic, or is snake-lady sneaking spying?
My favorite part was that Xander didn't put up with the manservant bit. He and Dracula must be pretty close, since Xander dared to say that and could still keep his head, put atleast he has some pride.

Again I say. the first did not want to have Faith nor Buffy killed until all the potiential slayers were killed first. That way, when buffy and faith were killed the slayer line would not continue. If buffy couldnt pass her power on, than the first would have tired to kill her right away. I mean getting rid of her would seem smart seeing as how powerful she is. And if it were true that Buffys power couldnt to passed on anymore, she would have had Slayer power after she died the first time. I mean, its not like she was born with them.
I think Joss is saving that story. It makes sense that there is another Buffy?faith type slayer somewhere

I think Joss is saving that story. It makes sense that there is another Buffy?faith type slayer somewhere Or here's another possible scenario. The First didn't know that, or at least certainly wasn't tempted to try anything rash... It did underestimate Buffy's abilities. Or here's another one. The First was exploiting the disruption in the Slayer line... the disruption essentially coming down to the fact that 2 Slayers are in existence at the same time. Killing Buffy, even if she couldn't pass the Slayer lineage on would return things to the status quo; i.e. one Slayer at a time. Should the First's plan hinge on that disturbance, surely it would make sense to keep things as is, until the perfect opportunity arises. The First is eternal, It's not exactly tight in the time and waiting department. I'm not gonna pretend to really understand the First's plan, or at least the metaphysics that allow it. Emmie and I had a long discussion about it a long time ago, and let's just say that the argument really can swing either way. I'm just playing devil's advocate and presenting the other side to your argument.

I'm not sure what sense there'd be in "saving that story". If Buffy and Faith were still the only two slayers, and then a third one pops up, okay--that might be an interesting plot twist. But there's 1800 slayers out there now, and none of them are any different than Buffy or Faith, except for the fact that B and F have been doing it longer...
