I know it is very bland and why does Buffy have brown hair and it looks like she is fighting bears not wolves...."BEARS AT THE GATE"! lol

I love both covers! This is the first time I've really loved Georges cover. Jon's cover is one of my favourites. I think other than cover 12, this is my favourite of his. I think Buffy has a nice resemblance to SMG.

I kinda like it , it seems to be rather abstract and yet manages to include some important elements of the story . I love the fact that both the characters of buffy and drac have only a vague resemblance to the actors which portraited them in the series, i think its kinda cool .
BTW is it just me or does Buffy look a bit like Sarah Connor from the tv series?

Along the way, Buffy and the legion of Slayers join forces with the irresistible Dracula to defeat a tight-nit group of nefarious vampires, in which the Slayers suffer a massive hit. Why is no one talking about this 'massive hit'? The shit is going to hit the proverbials if Satsu takes a blow! MB x

I think it will probably be Satsu or Renee that get killed. As it seems like they are the only Slayers we know that are going, besides Buffy of course.
But if it doesn't mean someone gets killed, it could mean the vamps succeed in reversing the spell that made the Potentials into Slayers, if that is there plan, but it's pretty obvious it is.

This is my least favourite Jon cover but it's still quite nifty. I like that this arc has had its own distinct artwork style. Jon's technique appears to have rubbed off onto Jo lol.
I wonder who will do the TPB cover? I hope it's Jon because it wouldn't make sense to have anyone else do it.

I also hope the spell gets reversed. It seems to have caused more problems than it has solved, lol.
Though it does say "along the way [...] the Slayers suffer a massive hit." That makes me think that prior to this issue, [at least] one of the slayerettes die, and the spell isn't reversed.

A massive hit doesn't necessarily mean a death. And it doesn't necessarily mean the spell will be reversed. It could just mean they get their asses handed to them without expecting it. But where would the fin be in that?

A massive hit doesn't necessarily mean a death. Yeah, agreed. I just think they'd use different wording for the death of a "major" (if they can be called that yet) character like Satsu or Renee. "Devastating", or maybe "tragic" or "tragedy", or something to that effect. I'm gonna go with "massive hit" being either the spell being reversed, or a large group of 'anonymous' slayers being killed...

My current set of predictions for the "massive hit" to the Slayers... - The Slayer spell is reversed either in part or in full -- meaning Buffy and Faith alone have the power again. More likely, that deus ex rosenberg somehow keeps a much smaller number of Slayers intact -- the Alpha Teamers, Renee, Kennedy, maybe a few other anonymous ones.
- The BHC is destroyed, leaving the gang homeless and adrift, lost and afraid in a world they never made. This could be accompanied by heavy casualties amongst the 100+ occupants who didn't go to Japan.
- A character gets killed off. Most likely a named, non-main character (Alpha Teamer or Renee).
As for the spell thing, I think could work fantastically. I know the issue prologue summaries are mostly for new readers, but they do make a point, every time, of mentioning the new population of Slayers. It would be interesting to read that "while a spell had activated nearly 2,000 Slayers around the world, a successful scheme by Buffy's enemy has reduced that number to only a handful", or something. Destroying the BHC, it's just one of those tried and true devices that always works. We've saw it in Season 3 (the Library), Season 6 (the Magic Box), Season 7, three times (the Watchers Council, the trap in "Touched", Sunnydale). A character getting killed off would be the worst option, IMO. Also, I think it's the least believable in the way that it was phrase. "The Slayers" suffer a massive hit sounds like it refers to something that affects them an organization-wide basis, not a personal one. Plus, I am not a fan of Joss killing off anyone. But I really don't think he should kill any of the Core Four (now including Dawn instead of Giles, IMO) at all. Certainly not unless he wanted to have a firesale of fans.

What would be more massive than the temporarily loss of their leader(s)? Lets face it those girls would be absolutelly terrifed, they wouldnt be sure of what to do in an upcoming crisis and uncertainty could lead them to fatal mistakes.

Thats actually a good idea, maybe Buffy gets kidnaped for a change and Willow and Xander has to lead the slayer into battle to save them. That would be cool or Xander in command central leading a showing Willow how to get into the building to save Buffy.

Add to that a system failure making communications unavailable thus several slayer groups being unable to communicate with the leading group -the one that Xander or Willow is in lead- making things even more chaotic.

I like your ideas I think maybe the spell will start to work backwards so everyday 1 girl is unchosen till there is no more, vamps do have time on their side and they only need one to survive to repopulate but........ With the Fray arc next, I see the scythe splitting in 2 and the birth of the all red scythe or something to do along those lines so then buffy gets out her Shadow caster to go to the future. I never read fray but did any big bad live to fight another day? If so I think that baddie will be the exchange.

Even better, giant Dawn could stomp her way into the building with a bunch of slayers on her back and shoulders then they jump down once they are inside the buiding kick ass. Woo

I know I've read this somewhere, quite possibly on this board, but I would think that with the rapid release of the #16 cover by Jo Chen, the ending of Drew's arc may actually lead us to the Fray crossover. While it may simply be to "rile" fans up... I think the bedroom scene in #12 was more than enough to do that, so, methinks that it may have been a little more strategic than that.
Meaning that the "massive" hit experienced by the slayers would probably be the sudden loss of their general. This, I know has already been brought up. The way I see this: Buffy probably finds her way into the future/alternate universe/whatever. As for the claim that it wouldn't be any fun without the deaths... it's still pretty early on for any big deaths. Even Joyce's death (which was HUGE!) was kept till about midseason.
I don't think that it will involve the total reversal of the spell (personal opinion)... it's almost silly to remove such a crucial plot point, especially since the tension, both internal (Buffy second guessing her actions) and external (Twilight and co.) isn't even close to being resolved. Is it a possibility later on? Sure. Given the sketchy descriptions that Fray receives in the future, something along those lines could very well happen. Let's not forget the "breadcrumbs" that were supposed to be dropped in #11. There's the whole discussion about Satsu probably someday taking over the reigns, and given the current circumstances, it's very possible that there will be a coup since it could be construed that she slept her way to the top. Especially since there are some who feel that they're better than her (see Issue 4). Lots more angst to play with, than to just go with the simple kill. Remember D'Hoffryn's words to Anya/Anyanka in "Selfless": "Why go for the kill, when you can go for the heart?" or something along those lines.
Oh... and I'm new, if the handle doesn't strike you as familiar.
