Am I the only one who thinks it's weird he has been so active in the comics since the finally of Angel. I know until now the comics weren't canon but I am pretty sure he was on the special edition wedding cover of issue 1. On the finally of Angel he acted as if he never wanted to see them again but in the comics he acts like nothing happened.

We know that Lorne is coming back - he appears on the Franco cover #5. I suspect that he is there because he did not get out of LA in time - he would have wanted to pack, etc.. What we don't know is who he is hanging out with, what he is doing...could he be the new host of the Playboy Mansion / Theatre. After all, even demons need some entertainment. I think he would be a great partner for Betta George - an empath and a telepath - what a combination.

Lorne was my favorite Angel character besides Fred and Doyle, so I'll be excited to see what he's up been up to...what his story is, since yeah, he was 'finished' with them.

Only comics that come to mind are Spike Asylum (making more of a cameo), Old Friends (small part too) and Shadow Puppets. I'm pretty sure Old friends is not canon. Brian I believe hasn't stated when the other two take place or if they are canon. I remember Lorne not wanting to help Spike but doing it anyway. If Angel asked I think it would have turned out very different. Have they said they are canon now?

Old Friends, Asylum, and Shadow Puppets are all non-canon materials. Plus, I like Lorne in Shadow Puppets.

I didn't know if Joss said it was canon, I've been out of the loop hence why I asked.

So far the only thing I believe is canon is Tales of the Vampires (written by Josh), Fray (written by Josh), Season Eight (written by Joss), and AtF (written by Brian, overseen by joss)

Tales of the Slayers aswell! Not the books, the graphic novel.
I also remember Joss saying people can choose if they want After the Fall to be canon. If fans didn't want the series to be continued, then ignore it. If fans wanted the series continued, it's right here.

I'm fairly certain that ATF is canon. Joss has a hand in the plot.

Tales of the Slayers aswell! Not the books, the graphic novel. Tales of the Slayers? Is that all of them of just Joss written ones? Because I remember a Dracula story that I'm not sure would fit with season 8. I think Xander was said to be missing for around a year after Chosen.

Slayerlit.us interviewd Scott Allie and asked if that story would fit in with Season 8 and he answered "You'll find out soon enough." Dracula is said to be back at some point, Wolves at the Gate has a focus on Xander and it's written by Drew Goddard, who wrote the Dracula story in Tales of the Slayers. I think that's where it will fit in. And all the Slayers that appeared in Tales of made an appearence in The Chain.

I can't stress enough how the opposite of cool Lorne coming back into 'season six' would be. As much as I liked him as a character, I think he seemed like a spare part for much of his time on the show, but the writers made some interesting turns in season five, particularly after Fred's death. I love the idea of him doing one more job for Angel and then disappearing into the ether; Lorne was never a fighter, and his story was always about running away from himself, and it was a really solid, full-circle ending. It would be a shame to ruin that.
That said, isn't issue five the 'First Night' issue, that catches up with characters from the Angelverse that aren't necessarily going to impact upon After the Fall?

Spike vs. Dracula has been one of my favorite mini series. Wonder if IDW will use him again. His feud with Spike and sort of with Angel could make some great plots. I can't stress enough how the opposite of cool Lorne coming back into 'season six' would be. It would be a shame to ruin that I always liked Lorne and wanted to see his character explored more, much like I have with Gunn. I do NOT want to see him a fighter as I found it believable that there are some people who can't go that way. Maybe they will play with his tension with Angel some.

I loved Lorne. The Vegas episode is one of my all-time favorites. I don't know if he belongs in Angel, but I think seeing him in Buffy would be very sharp (I think there might be copyright issues, though), and he HAS to get his section in The First Night.

It's been confirmed that Lorne will be in First Night: forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=142345:NRAMA: Around the time that it was announced that the Angel TV series would be ending, you were of two minds about it. Being an Angel "convert/geek/fan," you would have liked to see the show go on "pretty much forever but I would also like to see it avoid what befell Buffy in Season 7." So, did you like the fifth season and series finale?
JB: One of the best last episodes ever. And the rest of the season was pretty good, too. No complaints.
NRAMA: How are you liking Season 6 in comic book form so far?
JB: Again, have not seen it.
NRAMA: What brought about your involvement in the 4-page Lorne story for IDW's Angel comics?
JB: Favor to Chris, mostly.
NRAMA: Will it be set in Pylea? Around the time when he was The Hose at the Caritas karaoke bar? When he's the head of Wolfram & Hart's Entertainment Division? After his final TV appearance?
JB: It's set in Hell. Nuff said!
NRAMA: What appealed to you about Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan?
JB: Fun character. Hard to pin down just what it is."
