ANGEL INTERACTION SUBSCRIPTION OFFICIAL RULES:1. All cover concept entries must come from a subscriber of the series to be considered. 2. Every subscriber may enter a cover concept for each issue, one entry per issue. Each issue will have a specific announced cut-off date for entries to be considered for that particular issue. 3. Enries must be submitted to email angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com along with the subcription order number. At that time we will verify subscription with order number, assign a number to the entry and submit the numbered entry concept anonymously to the Buffy/Angel discussion forum, SlayAlive.com. The modorators at SlayAlive.com will then post each entry on the public forum. 4. All entries will be voted on an 'issue by issue basis (planned as monthly issues) by the public at the Buffy/Angel discussion forum, SlayAlive.com. 5. The enties listed on SlayAlive.com will be listed anonomiously by only a numbering system to keep all voting fair. 6. Each voting period will have an announced ending date (planned to be at end of end of the month) The date will be posted at both BCC store and SlayAlive.com. 7. Although each subscriber may enter only one new concept per issue, there is no limit to how many times the same subscriber may enter and win. Since all entries are posted anonymously, there can be no favoring of members and subscribers. 8. All voting results will be shown in real time and posted at SlayAlive.com. 9. The top voted entry for each issue will be returned to us at BCC where we will present it to IDW publishing to be drawn by a professional comic artist to be used as the cover art for that issue. In the case where something is determined by the editorial staff at IDW to not be appropriate, then the next highest voted entry will be considered. All final decisions to the exact content and art style of the actual covers will be soley determined by IDW based on the artist interpretation of the winning entry. WINNING PRIZE PACKAGE: Each month the cover winner will receive: 1. Their cover concept professionally drawn and printed as the official cover art on all 1000 copies of this limited edition comic book! Also, this same art will be shown inside all of the standard cover copies of this issue, so the whole Angel comic readership will see the results of the winning effort. Plus, the winning subscriber will have his name immortalized in the cover credits of the official issues, that's every issue, regular covers and this special cover! Imagine your name listed on the same page with the likes of Tony Harris, Brian Lynch and Joss Whedon! 2. A Buffy/Angel merchandise loot pile worth over $400.00. I just sent in my submission. Today (the 28th) is the last day, right? I wasn't sure if it meant that entries had to be in before the 28th, or that the 28th was the final day. I see the voting already started though Also I didn't get a subcription order number... yet I got the email from BCC for the rules and for submitting ideas.

Is there a reason it won't let me vote or talk about it on the other thread??

Sage: the voting is the topic right above this one, but it seems to be disabled. I'm guessing it went up too early? Four votes already went through, though. I can't wait to see everyone's submissions

There is no glitch and you guys aren't doing anything wrong. I started the topic, and then we got a few late entries. To be fair I disabled the thread until tonight at midnight. Any entries received AFTER that will be discarded. Voting will happen tonight

Ah ok. I wonder if mine went through? It's no big deal if it didn't, because there is always next month, and the month after that, and the following month...

Suggestion for the next contest. Please post the 2 covers that will be published for that issue. If there is a link to a preview for that comic please post it so the covers will not be inaccurate.
I think all the entries should be posted all at once so no one has an unfair advantage.
Anyone has more suggestions for the next contest?

When do we find out the details of the next issue so we can know what to submit for our idea, (e.g., Angel, Connor, Spike and the Dragon for this past one)?

The winning concept has been sent to IDW. When/If they approve it we'll announce it here. At that time we'll announce the characters and description for Issue 3.

IF they do not approve - what happens? Would you send all the entries for them to choose from? I wonder about this since many of us were not aware of the 5 page preview of Angel before submitting our concepts. It wasn't announced in Time and Space Toys BCC. It may be easier in future as we now know to check out these things.
May I also add that I agree with lashr1999 about posting them at once - it is too easy to build on another's idea.

Well, obviously there were alot of errors on this first go round. Let's start with the fact that entries should not have been posted until after the deadline was over. Sept 28 was the official deadline and some entries were posted prior to it. Even though the thread was locked for awhile the early entries were widely viewed and those entrants could get early votes- when later entries did not have that same exposure.
And then, the confusion over the "preview" of the first issue and characters in issue #2. Therefore, most of the entrys for #2 cover were not indicative of what the writers of the first comic were intending.
Let's hope that these miscommunications and "bugs" get worked out before the next contest.

Everything has been worked out. Everyone needs to understand that it will take about a week or so until we know if the winning concept has been approved. It is likely that it will either be rejected or modified since it really doesn't make much sense for the characters to be trying to kill the Dragon. I have said this before, if the winner is not approved the runner up will be submitted. I doubt that this situation will happen again.
The covers do not actually have to directly relate to the issue, they can be sort of cool artist images of our favorite characters (as long as they do not act inconsistant to the character).
Look at the Season 8 Buffy covers. For the most part they do not tell any sort of story. Just a cool rendering of the characters we love. I suggest you all take a tip from that and model you next concepts after that.

Yeah, that's what I was saying in the voting topic (page 3 -- it's locked now). I hope all the entries are "held back" until the deadline, then all posted at once. It's definitely more fair that way. Hehe, not to toot my own horn, but that's pretty much what I kept in mind with my cover concept I voted on one that fell into this sort of category. I can't wait for the next issue's contest! Also I was wondering if we will not be allowed to re-use one of our concepts for another contest? I mean I would rather try to come up with something new each time. Either way, maybe this should be made clear for the future contests? I was just looking over that winner's prize package... that's one heck of a package!

I guess you guys wouldn't know this, but there was NO advantage whatsoever. Once a poll is started, it can't be changed. So when Phil locked the poll, it couldn't have the other entries added to it. I had to make a completely different poll. So the first votes weren't there anyways. And the first entries were posted with Phil thinking that was all there were. In an email with Kevin or Keith (sorry, I forget his name) he'd sent more entires and Phil replied something along the lines of "Oh, I didn't know there was more." So don't worry, it shouldn't happen again where some entries are posted sooner than others.

When will we find out some info on issue 3 so we can submit our entries for the cover (and when is the deadline for issue 3 entries)? We're into the second week in October now, and I thought we'd have found out by now about issue 3.
