Hello all! We have a problem... IDW changed the "First Night" series around a bit. Each of the three issues feature several short stories about each character. The Wes story was originally in Issue 6, but has now been moved to Issue 7!! So now Issue 6 doesn't even have Wes in it, which is weird with our winning Wes cover. Issue 6 has 3 stories, one for each Conner, Lorne and Spike. So, it has been decided to save the amazing Wes cover for Issue 7, it makes much better sense to have him on the cover for his story. But this leaves a problem for Issue 6. Kevin is going to come up with a solution of either quickly creating a new concept, or go with a previous non-winning entry that best fits to Issues details. This also leaves a problem with our contest that is supposed to happen this month for Issue 7. Since we are saving the Wesley cover for the next issue, we will not be having a contest for Issue 7! I am so sorry to report all this...but it really is not the forum, nor TST's fault. OR - We could just let it go, and have the Wes cover on Issue 6, even though he is not in the issue at all... Please leave your thoughts...we need to make a decision tonight, and want to be fair to the subscribers! I was also given the option of just submitting a concept myself for Issue 6, so we can get it done on time. We must get a concept tonight, if we choose to go that path!!!! It doesn't look like Wes at all, but it is awesome.
I say YOU send a concept in for Issue 6.

Wow. That is definately the best fan cover yet! Awesome art. The reflection in the blood is great and the way you can see through Wes is amazing!
I think the best solution would be to use one of the other concepts that have been submitted. There surely would be one that would fit or one that could fit with tweaking.
As for not having an issue 7 contest, couldn't a prize still be awarded to the person who's concept is used?
Maybe IDW could pick a runner-up from the other contests if it fits. That way it would still be fan chosen in a way.

Okay CowBoy guy, I gave an idea for #6. I hope you like it, because... I think it really, really fits one of the stories we're getting. Also, really different from any of the covers so far.

Well it's just that we only have a matter of hours to make a decision. So I'm letting it be in Kevin's hands. Actually I would love to submit a concept...but I just don't feel right about it. Maybe for the last contest I will. But not now.  We do not have enough time to discuss everything in detail, nor do we have time to vote  |

I say we use a runner up concept that works with the stories in issue six. I think that sounds like a fair thing to do and the most time efficient solution.

I agree... I haven't participated in the contests outside of voting, but I think it makes more sense to use the Wes concept on #7 and use a runner up for #6.

I agree with selecting from the submissions - if you wish to keep it to the issue 6 context, then send them the ones that do not include wesley, only those with Connor or Spike (since no one included Lorne). Or you could look at all the runner-ups so far (roughly 12 concepts) and you pick your favourite one. I will support whatever you do. |

Paxshand - one of the requirements for submission is to be a member of the BCC. CBG would have no way of confirming that, so selecting a previous submission seems fairest. |

We've decided to look at last month's submissions, and open the playing field by allowing people to submit a new idea tonight!
Send your concept for ISSUE 6 to: angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com
You have to send it right away to be considered, as this is a short term...kinda surprise contest.
Since some might not see this in time, rest assured that if your cover concept from last month featured: Lorne, Connor, or Spike; it will be added to the contest.
New entrants please use those three characters, and remember that this issue will talk about what happened on "that night".
The winner for last month is the Wesley cover. That person is now the winner for Issue 7. They will still be credited in that issue, as well as receive the other prizes! It's just that the concept will not be for Issue 6 anymore

Very awesome, fair decision. I've just submitted my idea. The Subscription number is that long one that has a few letters first and then quite a bit of numbers, right? *Sigh* I really hope I did this right.

I think it's a good decision, and it's a good chance for others to give a quick concept that might not get there otherwise.
