Adam was the weakest villain, but as you may or may not be aware, he was never supposed to be such a major villain in season 4. Maggie Walsh was supposed to have a much longer stint on the show, and would have likely been the real season villain; with Adam being unleashed much later on. I didn't know that.Learn something new every day Yep... Weird. How come Maggie Walsh didn't stay on the show a little longer after all?

Voted for Angelus, for the reasons stated very well by Michelle (reply #12). I also wanted to see more of Maggie Walsh, and thought she should have been the Big Bad of Season 4. But, since Buffy can't kill humans, that would have been a Big Problem. I loved Season 4, but it was botched by Adam.

Maggie Walsh was actually meant to have a bigger role in Season 4, but the actress wanted out.

glad to see no votes for Adam I thought the mayor was the most "likeable" villain and was a bit of comic releif for a big bad! Glory wasgreat because she was a woman stronger than Buffy And Caleb was so good at the end for a show which was about female empowerment, and he was really evil!

I have to go with Angelus here. I think that what makes him so great is a few things, 1. His humor. He is SO damn funny! 2.He was a good guy then BAM evil. Hard to kill someone you used to be friends with I would say 3.He was pure evil. He had no real human emotions. 4.David's acting made him a superb character!

I picked Angelus, but it was a pretty hard choice. Each villain was unique and had different qualites that made them scary or at least a threat to Buffy and the Scoobies.
Angelus won out for me b/c there was more emotionally at stake. Besides all the damage and turmoil he caused, Buffy was forced to choose between saving Angel or saving everyone else, which was heart breaking and yet facinating to watch.

I chose Angelus. I see the entire Angel/Angelus story arc as extremely compelling and essential to Buffy's (the character not just the show) development. There is no regret in killing any of the other villians (except Willow:) ).

I chose Mayor Richard Wilkins III. Humorous but also evil, Mr. Trick and Faith were incredible henchmen.
1) The Mayor 2) Angelus 3) Glory 4) Dark Willow 5) Caleb 6) Faith 7) The Master 8) Adam 9) The First

I went with Glory. She always made me laugh I'm surprised theres no love for The Master! I still gots appreciation for the first season. He's just classic bad guy. Mayor & angel were a close third. I've never heard of this Maggie Walsh trivia. Whats the deal? She's was supposed to be the S4 Big Bad?

I've never heard of this Maggie Walsh trivia. Whats the deal? She's was supposed to be the S4 Big Bad? She was to be far more prominant, but the actress had to leave. They killed off the character earlier than planned. From the very brief period of Walsh vs. Buffy we got to see, I think you could probably picture what the last half of the season would have been like. Adam was clearly never meant to be the major villain. He would have popped up later as a result of Walsh's flawed evil schemes; a Caleb-style tool of the real villain in the Initiative.

Angelus because of his personal connection to Buffy, but with the Mayor a close second.

The Mayor. Flawless satire of a small town corrupt official. It's really no surprise a mayor of Sunnydale just had to be evil.

I voted for Glory. So powerful and fashionable and just a little crazy Angelus was a v.v.close second, he is soo sexy and all evil killing Buffy's friends making them suffer, drawing it out. His dirty talk in season 4 was yummy when he was all caged up oooh

I choose Angelus. The most sadistic, and at the same time, hotest

Angelus, Dark Willow and Faith because they were all connected to Buffy before they went bad.
