Entry 1 -
Playing on the "someone manipulating events" and "Angel tearing through every demon in LA to talk to him" the covers features a warped view of hellish LA buildings bending around a street with littered demon carcasses leading up to a lone cowboy silhouette of Angel w/ a sword (maybe dragon on the top of the image somewhere among the skyline)- all of which is encased in a snow globe with a label stating "The City of Angel" (angel logo writing of Angel) or "HELL A". The snow globe is held in the palm of an anonymous hand.
Entry 2 -
We see an image of a doctors office, a psychologist office. The doctor is in sign is hanging on the wall as are doctors licenses (in this case fake ones). Wearing a white doctor coat is SPIKE with a stethoscope around his neck.
Lying down on the couch talking to Dr Spike is WESLEY. Sitting on the DESK next to both characters is a picture of ILLYRIA and both characters are looking at the picture. Wesley has a sad look upon his face as Spike tries to explain to him the situation.
Entry 3 -
A huge do not enter sign or police yellow tape (do not
cross) is featured prominently on the cover. in the
background see cityscape of Los Angeles.
in the forefront with back towards reader is Angel
(maybe others with him) who is about to cross the
line.
Entry 4 - L.A. itself is the main character. Closeup of the "Welcome to L.A." sign and it has been graffitied to say "HelL.A." In the background, the sky is orange and dark, the houses and buildings are destructed. The cover depicts a Los Angeles that has truly gone to hell.
Entry 5 - I would like to see Groo, Connor and Angel on the cover – bruised, cut, hurt but smiling that they lived through the fight – a back-patting, arms around the shoulders, smiling faces – or as smiley as Angel can get – all looking very comradely. They may be badly beaten, but they are not defeated. The moment may be brief but there is a moment of victory shared that we may be privileged to glimpse.
Entry 6 - One simple image... GUNN AS A VAMPIRE!!!
Entry 7 - Whoever is responsible for changing Los Angeles to hell on the cover. Angel facing it ready to brawl, he should be armed with ax and sword. I think the sky should look like when Sahjan ripped a hole open to Quor-toth. He should look like he's coming in from a hell dimension sort of transparent or shadowy who ever or what ever it is.
Entry 8 - Lorne is walking towards us on an abandoned street. He has just passed Caritas, a broken neon sign hanging above the entrance. A few steps behind him lays the gun he just shot Lindsey with. He’s leaving his past behind him. Caritas, Fred and his innocence. His body is aching and his steps are heavy. Yet, we see determination in his face and in his eyes, a light. Hope.
Entry 9 -
The reader is looking through the key hole of Gunn's basement door and there we can see his tortured sire Harmony.
She has been badly beaten very thin due to being starved and her eye make up has run.
She is in vamp face mode and is gripping hold of a unicorn horn which has been snapped off a unicorn rocking horse also pictured ready to strike in case her kidnapper should return.
Entry 10 - We see a closeup of Gunn in vamp-face, almost grinning madly. He's mostly on the right side of the cover, with no more than his right shoulder visible. Behind vamp Gunn are stairs leading down into darkness. The passage is dank and grimy, graffiti or perhaps runes scrawled on the walls. There are shapes within the seemingly utter darkness at the center of the cover, but you can't quite make out what is downstairs...
Entry 11 -
I love the idea of a Frillyria/Gunn showdown. In my concept I see Illyria walking very confidently through the snow (almost cocky, maybe with a smirk on her face), holding her bloodied sword limply: deliberately enticing her opponent (who we don't see) by drawing in the snow with it, leaving a red trail behind her. Off in the distance behind Illyria, possibly hidden by the shade, we see Gunn vamped out and ready to pounce on an unsuspecting Illyria, who unknowingly enticed the wrong opponent.
Entry 12 - Since Hell has frozen over, I thought this would be a nice opportunity to give a nod to “Amends.” Angel is on a snowy hill, his back to us. He is in the same position as he was in “Amends” when he was waiting for the sun to come; only difference is, the ground is ALREADY snowy and Angel is alone. However, what he is looking out at isn’t a snowy Sunnydale—it’s hellish LA, squirming with demons and violence.
Entry 13 - The center of the cover should be the old familiar shot of the Wolfram & Hart building. Surrounding the building, almost out to the edges of the cover, is an irregular shaped ring of what looks like flames spreading out from the center. The area already covered by the flames is LA in Hell, demon hoards and all. LA still looks "normal" where the flames haven't spread yet.
Entry 14 - Angel has kicked down a door (there are cracks on the wall where the door use to be attached). We see Angel from the back and he is looking into the darkness and we see an outline in shadow of the person (or demon) sitting in the darkness. Angel's jacket is torn and there is blood on it, Angel is holding his sword (in his right hand with the blade slanting to the left so we can see it over his left shoulder) which also has blood on it. There is light behind Angel, but darkness in the room.
Entry 15 -
