That's right! Everyone should get their butts in gear and register up and start posting at WhedonAge.com, because you won't want to forget about the site again after some excellent BtVS news is released! You're going to be super excited. But until it's allowed...
I'll never tell...

Mikey: It's not something so much to discuss in mutliple areas. More of an event.
Emmie: Nothing to look for yet. Just post around and sooner or later there will be something under SITE NEWS that any major Buffy fan would want to take part in.

WhedonAge deals in a lot more things than just whedon, but is that why there aren't many posters there? SlayAlive keeping fans away? LOL
An online event. Happening there. Not to mention a special interview-type opportunity, if not a second online event.
Not to mention thats where my trivia contests take place, though they are on hiatus.

Fine, don't. That's not up to me. But since you're a Whedon fan, I thought you'd want to. Jeez, some people.

Because SlayAlive is already off the ground, and WhedonAge fell back upon it. Just because I or Phil didn't think of it first? Not my problem.
Check the chatbox for more about WhedonAge.

Geez Tim. I'm not sure why you have to get so bent out of shape about people asking questions and such. Everyone's just interested in finding out as much as possible about Joss and such. I think I'm a bit confused too.

The mods are most of the posters there. Thats why the topics are all started by us.

They have like 1500 more members than we do.

They have like 1500 more members than we do. Yeah, and that was from around 2003 or '04 or some long time ago. They have about 6-8 regular posters now. Phil, you posted for a little while and left.

Yes, I am a member there. But I just can't get into their layout, I think there are just too many boards. And yeah, the lack of activity kinda stinks.

I think there's too much stuff too. It's just too overwhelming. It would be a lot easier if it was cut into smaller portions. The only place I post is in the art section.
And I'm also confused about what exactly you're talking about. It's easier for you since you know what it is, but the rest of us aren't really understanding exactly what you're trying to tell us.

The problem I think with that site is a case of being "spread too thin". Too much content, makes for confusing navigation, etc. I think it's nice that you guys will be doing an interview with Joss, or whatever it is that you have planned...but I just don't see that generating lots of new traffic. Many many fans are already members there from the SaveAngel campaign. You also have to realize that most fans are attracted by the Buffy/Angel aspect. So it's a hard sell to get newbies online and posting when you are competing with places like Whedonesque (who are pretty much doing the same thing as WhedonAge). Even the site name is similar to the other one. Does WhedonAge send out newsletters? Since there are already over 2,000 members that might be more effective in reviving interest rather than plugging it on other forums. That site has been established for years so most of us have already heard of it.

The problem I think with that site is a case of being "spread too thin". Too much content, makes for confusing navigation, etc. I like the banner, it's eyecatching and fannish. But the front page is a navigational nightmare and is probably putting a lot of people off. It needs to be far more linear. Also the site perhaps needs more unique selling points to stand out from all the other places. I would start investing in far more Dollhouse coverage if you want the hits. Maybe get your own recapper/columnist for the show. It's also important to remember that fan interest in Buffy/Angel is going to get pretty much sidelined come January once the show begins. Shiny new toy and all that. So new fans will be looking for cool places to chat about Dollhouse. As for the name thing well lets see there's Whedonesque, Whedonopolis and Whedon.info. Very samey URLS. I'd change the address to AgeOfWhedon.com. It flows off the tongue better and the site wouldn't get mixed up so much with the other three sites I mentioned.

What I don't understand is why you can't ask whoever it is that's doing this special thing to move it to SlayAlive, a much more populated and interactive board? Instead of making all of us jump to that disorganized, overwhelming board. Why can't whatever is being done there be done here instead? That's most likely because the Administrators of that site secured something exclusive for that site only. Much like we get emails from Georges Jeanty, etc from time to time. The best way to get attention is to offer something no one else has. Tim doesn't owe this forum anything and if he worked with them to get something cool, that's fine. I know it's been a while since this site has had some sort of scoop, but I have a few things up my sleeve for the next few months to come. So we're gonna have some extremely cool things as well. Comic-Con is coming up and there's gonna be big stuff from me during that time too. We have a few GREAT contests coming, that everyone can participate in...with one of a kind prizes!

It can't be that big of a deal honestly. Huge news to me would be a new film endeavor, be it a movie, show or something. I think it's probably a Q&A with Joss, or something like that.

Well the idea with an exclusive is that it would hopefully get linked on various other sites to gain traffic. For example: We get a letter from Georges Jeanty with a preview of his upcoming variant cover...it gets linked at Whedonesque, Buffy.nu, and more. We get a thousand extra hits. That's how it works. But the thing is, I noticed in our case even when we get crazy traffic, only a couple people register. So I'm sure the folks at WhedonAge want that sort of thing to happen.
The best part about this place, is that the fans make it what it is. A machine that keeps growing. You can't ever really sit back, ya know? Otherwise people move on to new sites, etc.

Because I'm trying to NOT tell you. I'm not supposed to yet. Mikey: No, not as big as Joss, but I do have that contact, so maybe in the future. EDIT And I have been trying to get new things for us here at SlayAlive, they're just not working out the way I wish they would have.
