Taken from the Q & A by Scott Allie: 1. Cowboy Guy: Scott, when can you reveal the title for Issue 20? Scott: #20 is currently titled "After These Messages ... We'll Be Right Back!" but titles sometimes change. I don't like this title but as long as the story is good I really don't mind, I would have called it "Looking Back" or "What Could Have Been" seen as it is the animated series that we could have had. The tilte so far just seems to long but hey it's just a title.

But I wonder if it's not too long to fit the page. Maybe if they used a different font and/or size.

I don't think he's joking for this issue might not have anything to do with the main storyline -or with any for that matter, i personally think that this issue could be cput in the same category that episodes like Triangle fall into or they could provide a comedic relief for the next arcs might be full with drama and angst .

I really really really think something dramatic is going to happen at the end of the current arc. Like, life shattering. Something that totally changes the dynamic of Buffy as we know. I think the reason they decided to put this issue in there and that point is to pay homage to what Buffy used to be... better days.

Yeah and compare the two situations, how one used to be and how they have come to be. Or to make things a bit less tense after the dramatic changes that will occur in issues 18 and 19.

I feel like this issue should come at the same time as another...almost like a real stand alone and having nothing to do with Season Eight. I hate when issues don't have anything to do with story-arc (The Chain...although that's one of my favorites) so then we basically have to wait two months until we find out the rest of the story.
Just my opinion.

I think the reason they decided to put this issue in there and that point is to pay homage to what Buffy used to be... better days. Well it already has changed we have over 1500 slayers world wide, Buffy has slept with a woman, Willow is a mega powerful witch who lasts 100's and 100's over years into the future, Xander only has one eye and is now a General of a slayer army. We also know that ***FUTURE SPOLIERS*** the world learns about vampires and it sort of becomes public knowledge. I think this will be a fantastic issue and I am really looking forward to it. The new-sih animated art will be really cool and I want to see Xander have two eyes again. I wonder if Dawn, Angel, Giles, Faith, The Mayor or Joyce will be in it seen as they are re-visiting the high school years...oh and they have to add in Principal Snyder. Just a thought.

A story completelly irrelevant with anything? That would be totally out of place , i mean sure it would provide a lighter atmosphere but still, it makes more sense if its someone's flashback towards a better place or a dream, much like in restless-without the first slayer. I bet that Buffy's either dreaming or reminiscing of the good ol times seeing as to what has happened of her friends, otherwise it would be kinda pointless whilst the chain provided us with a deeper knowledge of how the Slayer Army works , how they tracked down some of the girls and even some security measures regarding Buffy, the head of the Army.

Well, with all the hype of whats going to happen between Willow and Buffy when all this future stuff is out of the way is going to end the issue, or leave it at a cliffhanger. I, personally, have a feeling it isn't going to go well. And so does pretty much anyone else. Then, flashing back to them in high school all animated will bring back the good times and then BAM it'll all be dark and sad again when we return to the story. Almost like what they did with the musical sequence in "Selfless."

Also kind of reminds me of the flashbacks of Fred in A Hole in the World or Shells, not sure which, it's been a while.

I think this is going to be a flashback that still has relevance to the present storyline. It might be metaphorical or merely further the character's journey. But I think it will be relevant.

I agree with Emmie, we have no proof that this issue won't be furthering the story in some way. Just because the story is a flashback, it could still have a lot of relevance to the main story. May be similar to LOST's flashbacks in that sense.

This is probably our "Hide and Seek" (the song not the game) moment.

This is probably our "Hide and Seek" (the song not the game) moment. xmadxscientistx, I had no idea what you were talking about at first but was intrigued enough to go find the lyrics. Hide and Seek by Imogen Heapwhere are we? what the hell is going on? the dust has only just begun to form crop circles in the carpet sinking feeling spin me round again and rub my eyes, this can't be happening when busy streets a mess with people would stop to hold their heads - heavy hide and seek trains and sewing machines all those years they were here first oily marks appear on walls where pleasure moments hung before the takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life hide and seek trains and sewing machines (oh, you won't catch me around here) blood and tears (hearts) they were here first Mmmm whacha say, Mmmm that you only meant well? well of course you did Mmmm whacha say, Mmmm that its all for the best? Because it is Mmmm whacha say? Mmmm that it's just what we need you decided this whacha say? Mmmm what did she say? ransom notes keep falling out your mouth mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut outs speak no feeling no i don't believe you you don't care a bit, you don't care a bit (hide and seek) ransom notes keep falling out your mouth mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut outs (hide and seek) speak no feeling no i don't believe you you don't care a bit, you don't care a (you don't care a) bit (hide and seek) oh no, you don't care a bit oh no, you don't care a bit (hide and seek) oh no, you don't care a bit you don't care a bit you don't care a bit After reading the lyrics, I've gotta agree. This song seems very apt. Great reference, mad scientist...or may I simply call you mad? And here's a Buffy video with the song! Buffy - Sad Moments, Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap

Variant Cover: (kinda depressing) Written by Jeph Loeb, penciled by Eric Wight and Georges Jeanty, inked by Andy Owens, colored by Michelle Madsen, covers by Jeanty and Jo Chen.
Comic-book writer Jeph Loeb was set to executive produce, alongside Joss Whedon and animator Eric Wight, the proposed Buffy animated TV series. While Buffy fans won't be viewing that show anytime soon, Loeb, Wight, and Whedon offer the next best thing -- a comic inspired by the animated series!
40 pages, $2.99, in stores on Nov. 26.www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0808/11/darkhorsenov.htmGuess there is a delay, as most of us thought there would be. Almost a two month wait.

Yikes. Oh, well, at least it's just a single standalone, and not a 4-part arc...
