there are two color jobs for this cover: this one has fire coming out of the dragon's nose and is much greener.

That was one of the covers released for the issue 11 ("Chapter 8") solicitations, but it apparently didn't make the final cut and it wasn't actually released. That's why I removed it. We're running out of new covers to be released Quite sad, isn't it? I'm hearing rumors though of 17, maybe 18 issues. Might be wishful thinking, but it'd mean more fun for us

Queeroid, the Chapter numbering is a bit confusing after First Night. I actually thought your covers were misfiled (lol) until I realized you were counting after First Night. It might be easier to keep the Issue numbers as IDW isn't calling Issue 9 "chapter 6" (at least, I've never heard of it).

Yeah, I thought the same thing. First Night generally isn't considered a different series, and should retain the regular numbers to avoid confusion.

While this information about the alternate covers is readily available at IDW Publishing's website, I have had a great deal of trouble locating information on the frequency of print for the other cover versions. There was some erroneous information--or perhaps it was just unsubstantiated--that the virgin covers were one for every forty regular copies and that the pencil covers were one in twenty. (That is excluding the pencil TimeandSpaceToys.com versions.) Would anyone happen to know the exact rate of print for the various cover types? Is it a limited number, or is it a ratio? There are just so many different versions all I can do is shake my head. Thanks! Val

Well, the actual appearance of the incentive covers are different each time. Sometimes there is an all new cover, sometimes there's one sketch and a virgin, sometimes two virgins. This is what, I think, it usually is.
Covers A and B ship at a 1:1 ration, since after Issue #2. That's always been.
The first incentive ships at 1:10, the next at 1:20. I think.

Actually, that quote was taken from the advert for the second issue, so there may be some discrepancy in your assumption. I'm not sure. Thanks for the answer, though. It's much appreciated. I was sort of hoping for a link or some other solid evidence. My beta Howard Russell is trying to research this for the After the Fall section of www.buffyworld.com. This page has been a long time coming and I'd like to see it presented with accuracy. He would too, for that matter. Val

True, but things have changed much since #2. #1 and #2 actually had the B covers at 1:4, so it would make sense that the incentives for those issues would be at 1:40. However, from #3 and on, the A and B covers became 1:1.

When will we get a coloured version of the Doyle/cordy/angel one? According to Time & Space Toys, it's now shipping. They just haven't updated the picture on their site with the colored version. As soon as I can find it, I'll post it.
