Potential for Buffy Dolls by Robert Tonner

Some of you know that in addition to my buffy figures...i also collect fancy fashion dolls by Robert Tonner. His company recently started making DC and Marvel figures. They already have a great Wonder Women and Supergirl and some Spiderman dolls are coming soon as well as Batgirl, Lois Lane, Superman, Batman, and the Joker. These are fabulous, poseable, rooted hair, had panited faces and 16" tall with removable clothes etc. He also has the Harry Potter license and Pirates of the Carribean. In a recnet interview in figures.com Robert Tonner mentions that he is a big Buffy fan and would love to do some Buffy dolls...thought you guys might like to read this. I practically wept with joy. If you look at his other dolls and the quality of the clothes....and then think about all the beautiful and hot actors and actresses and all of their fabulous clothes over the seasons...well it would be so great to get these.

Oh course the first thing a figure collecter says when they see his dolls is that they are expensive...but these dolls make the sideshow figures look like dollar store trash...seriously...they are worth every penny. you can see some of the other things he has done at www.roberttonner.com and you might consider sending the company an email and expressing your interest in a Buffy license. I know I plan to do just that!

The Robert Tonner dolls are absolutely beautiful Aly. What a good idea about asking them to obtain a Buffy license, we would get some seriously hot dolls/figures!

I don't have any pics at the moment. If you look under the cinderella line on their page...one of the wicked stepsisters makes a PERFECT Drusilla...i repainted mine to look more like Juliet Landau.

If you think customs are expensive...these dolls repainted or customized can go for like $1000 or so. Its insane. I make clothes and sometimes repaint them for sale and its crazy what people pay for these.

Let's all send one email expressing interest in him picking up the Buffy characters. Even if we got one perfect Buffy, I would be so satisfied. The Supergirl doll is amazing! I would love for him to do Buffy the right way!!

Can you imagine how beautiful that would be? I mean it would be the centerpiece of ANY collection!! I can only imagine how nice and HOT she would look. And there are so many outfits he can make!

THE HARRY POTTER DOLLS AND WONDER WOMAN ARE GORGEOUS. I would buy any Buffy fandom doll they made. Did y'all see their Draco Malfoy? If looks could kill! And you're right about the Cinderella Stepsister looking like Dru, she is a dead ringer. Cinderella herself has the most wonderful coy facial expression.

I am going to the Tonner Convention in May...and trust me I will chew Mr Tonner's ear off about the potential for Buffy Dolls...

I am excited for the convention...I will be attending the Aquaman event and will be gettting a Mera doll (aquaman's wife) and hopefully the green/orange dude himself. And I am soooo looking forward to getting the supergirl/wonderwoman and the upcoming Batgirl doll. The Spiderman dolls are really fabulous with a great likeness to Tobey Macguire. And then the batman, joker, and superman...sigh...i cannot wait. I will be so very poor.

I think a season 6 Buffy outfit would be ideal because they had a higher level of detail. Maybe OMWF!!

There was an event the past weekend nearby that Mr Tonner attended and several of my doll club friends already started pushing the idea on him. So trust me...we are not alone in this venture. but yes...keep sending the emails folks.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I would love for RT to take over the Buffy doll license. The fact that they are expensive shouldn't put people off because, like Aly said, they are definately worth the money. Also, we won't get tonnes of pointless variants just key characters from key scenes with possible additional costumes. And you can bet your bottom dollar they will make Anya, Tara and... Dawn!

I have been collecting dolls for quite some time now, and a year ago, I had discovered Robert Tonner (thanks to Alyrenee). Now, I own all of the Wizard of Oz dolls and a few basics, and let me just say, they are beautiful in person. The clothing is so intricate--I just love them to death.

If Buffy becomes a line, I will go crazy.

Trust me, I would do the same. Just thinking about the potential for this to happen makes me crazy! I'll be so glad if this happens. It be so much better than any other Buffy product out there today!

Sideshow do a pretty good job of making the Sideshow figures look like dollar store trash.

Seriously, though, his work is gorgeous, particularly his female dolls. I'd love to see him do Faith; I don't think we've ever had a figure that really captured Eliza Dushku's likeness.
