Just bug me every now and then, and I'll eventually cave. It's just so. Much. Work.

*Tosses a cockroach at Pat* Consider yourself bugged. Now, you may want to get on it before I start with the lice.

I just bugged Pat. Hope we'll see his sketch soon.
I wanna get the next sketchbook. Actually, I'd rather want the sketchbook for the Retreat arc, so I can get a Oz, since I already know which sketches I'll get for the next volume(Dawn-doll and Fray).
I assume any sketches from issue 16-20 will be in the same volume as the predator and prey volume.

Actually, the last time I talked to Georges, he was kinda undecided about what to do for the "ToYL" arc. But he was leaning towards a book of miscellaneous sketches. I've also been bugging him about the 3rd sketchbook, as he assures me that it should come out in the next few months... which isn't really saying a whole lot, but whatevs... I think I've decided on Joyce for #3.

Oh gosh, I'd forgotten that we haven't gotten the WATG volumes yet. I'll never get Oz.
Let's see, 40, divided by 5, is 8, that means (unless another artist will do several issues in a row like TOYL) we should expect atleast 7 volumes total(in case the TOYL and issue 20 sketches get to be in the WATG or PAP volumes).
Since we already got two volumes, there's 5 left, and I want two books of each volume, one for reading, one for selling on ebay for lots of money in ten years. (Mohahahaha)
Vol 3 issue 11-15 RENEE, SAGA VASUKI or XANDER Vol 4 issue 16-20 (and maybe misc sketches) FRAY, CARTOONY BUFFY Vol 5 issue 21-25 DAWN DOLL, KENNEDY Vol 6 issue 26-30 OZ, TWILIGHT OR DAWN vol 7 issue 31-35 WESLEY, FRED vol 8 issue 36-40 Uhm....
I'm just thinking out loud.
In the end, I might order a commission from Georges with my favorite characters. If I keep it simple and on cheap paper, it shouldn't cost so much, should it? I mean we get a book, sketch AND autograph for 20 bucks, so a commission shouldn't be that expensive.
Right?

Well, he already gave you a discount the last time for being a loyal customer (reduced shipping cost was it?), so I think he'll probably cut you a rather decent deal... considering how many of his sketchbooks you're planning on buying.

Yep, he gave me a discount on shipping. He might do it again.
That is if he remembers me. I last contacted him when I ordered the 5?(I lost track) vol 2 and that was while ago.
Maybe when I order two copies of vol 3 I can ask how much a commission would be. Three items at once could give something.

Good luck scoring the commission discounts... really hope you do get them. I'm throwing down the cash the moment #3 becomes available. Kinda sad that I missed the first one, but oh well...

I hope he'll sell them in one big volume once they're all out. In paperback or something, because after the first reading I had to tape vol 1 so pages wouldn't come of. Vol 2 was better, but I'd still like better quality.

Hey all. Got an e-mail today from Georges informing me that the 3rd sketchbook (collecting the "WatG" arc, and most likely "A Beautiful Sunset" too) will be available for purchase from his WEBSITE on September 4, 2009. Those of you headed over to Dragon Con this year will also be able to pick up a copy then. And per his usual gracious nature, he even sent the cover art. To the uninformed, these books are full of drafts, thumbnail sketches for cover concepts, fully pencilled pages (pre-ink), and best of all, Georges is pretty elaborate about his thought process throughout. And to sweeten the deal, a free headsketch of your choice comes included... yes, an original Jeanty headsketch. Look at the previous pages if you want an idea of what they look like.

I asked for either Joyce or Leah. I'll save Saga Vasuki for later... but methinks Mel, Urkonn, Gunther, or Loo for the next one (if he releases one of miscellaneous sketches in lieu of a "ToYL" one). Decisions, decisions... I just can't justify getting more than one. Also, I hate having duplicates of things... it kinda drives me nuts.
EDIT: Just noticed after studying the close-up of the cover... but Buffy's eyes are blue there. Aren't they usually a hazel/green color?

No, I think they're colored blue all the time in the comics. I remember that that annoyed me.
I justify buying two because they'll last longer. The first book I had to tape after one reading.
Also, they're collectible.
I do wish Xander's hair was darker on this cover.

Okay, I know for a fact that they're not always blue in the comics. For the close-ups at least, they're usually the "correct" color. Dawn's are blue.

*checking*
Hmm, blue/green.... green/grey/brown/blue... blue-ish grey... huh, not sure where I got that idea.
I could have sworn someone's eye-color annoyed me. Could be that they're blue-ish at all.
And people, whenever you buy a copy, I'd love for you to post your sketches here.
EDIT-
I think it'll be a Renee and a Xander(with eye-patch) sketch.
Not sure how he'll do with the next vol. Sketches from issue 16-25 in the same sketchbook maybe? Issue 16-19 divided between vol 3 & 4?
In that case I want Dark Future Willow and Dawn-doll for my next two. Dawn doll is adorable.
I have to get Kennedy and Vi eventually too. Loved Vi on the show.

I might try to get one of these. I'd love to have a sketch of a character. How do you inform him which character you would like?
Could you even just get a sketch? If so, how much would that be? Sorry for all of the questions!

When you pay though paypal, you can say in the message box who'd you like. I'm asking him about a commison right now, but it could take weeks before he answers. You can find his email on his site, so you can ask how much a commission would be. www.kabalounge.com/contact.htm

For anyone who hasn't seen, they're for sale now. You have to click on a link on the first page to get to the sell-page, because it's not shown on the store-page yet. Here www.kabalounge.com/sketchbooks3.htm
