I am IN LOVE with the idea of a new game! I can not even imagine how amazing it would be! I get a little misty, thinking of a button combo for a sythe attack! SQUEE! I would definately not want it on Wii though...while that would be very fun, I can not see it being a great game. Wii just dons't have the capabilities...in my oppinion. Also, Lacey, does soney do that: Still release games for ps2?

I would love a new Buffy game as long as they made it for PS2, I just think it's stupid to only make games for some consoles that are so expensive and then fans can't buy the games because they can't afford the console. Yea they still release new games for PS2 (I just got the new sims game for it)

I really do enjoy the idea of having stronger slayer power and a running boost button. I think that the characters jogged on chaos bleeds and it would take five minutes to run to the place you wanted.

I definately think it should be released on the Wii. There is nothing weak about the Wii, whatsoever. The games are fantastic, the gameplay, control system and graphics is superb. HELLO, has anyone seen Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles? The graphics is amazing. Yes, it doesnt have the same level of graphics as 360 or PS3, but come on, the controls for PS havent changed in over a decade. The Wii is a brand new concept, and as for likeability, they are still SOLD OUT, even though they were released over a year ago! There are only limited stock everywhere, so obviously, they are in huge demand. Buffy on the Wii would definately be the way forward. Controls are in no way LIMITED. The new Tomb Raider: Anniversary that was released on the Wii has a substantial level of control and movability. Plus, the attachments, the new Wii Zapper would make for some serious Slayer crossbow training And as Mikey said, the remote and nunchuck would allow for great magic spells from Willow Also, i wouldnt like the game to be based soley on Season 8, i would prefer a mixture of the show and comic Wayne

If they ever do make a game, I think it should be on all 3 next gen consoles, just to be, well, fairer. I'm saving up for a 360 and will be terribly dissapointed if one comes out on Wii after I buy it. I had to deal with that with the original Buffy game on Xbox. Not fun.
I love the gap between Chosen and The Long Way Home idea. That would be so cool. OH! And the tutorial level should be the battle in Chosen! How cool would that be? Standing on the edge while there's people fighting all around and Ubervamps just keep coming. And the Sycthe. Then after the battle you have to jump buildings to get to the bus.....
Oh god, I need a new game.

Why have only 26 people voted for yes??? What do you think of posting a petition on sites created by the actual game developers eg. EA. This will give them an insight into what we fans think.

I guess if they made it for Wii I could invest in one. Also Mikey this shouldn't be in the season 8 section since that section is just for the comics and this section is for merchandise and that's what the game would be. And since this isn't a done deal who's to say it would for sure be set in season 8.

I would definitely buy a Wii for a new Buffy game!
Also, I love the idea of it taking place between seasons 7 and 8!

Nintendo DS. Wifi Multiplayer action, or maybe a pc game. Internet servers. Everybody choses a side, Scooby or nonscooby. Some slayers and witches on each side. Vampires and demons as PCs for evil, watchers and initiate for scoobies. Built a lot like WoW, only smaller and portable and very Buffy oriented.
It can be done. They're doing something very similar for Firefly, only for PC.

I've been talking to Georges Jeanty about this. Hopefully he will have some insight about video game art, etc! You never know!
Also, I prefer a "lost-ep" scenario as well. I would LOVE for the game to have a more animated style, similar to the comic...very cell shaded so it can have more creative freedom.
I really think an amazing start would be right at the moment Buffy smiled in Chosen. We should see how they got to Scotland! One mission could even be to rob the Swiss bank in under 5 minutes or something without killing any guards!! All stealth and stuff!!
The tutorial on gameplay -should- be the fight in the hellmouth in Chosen. That would rock!
The game could end with a the fight between the slayers/Buffy in LWH #1. Start of skydiving off the helicopter, shoot the forcefield, land without dying. Search the church, and find the demons at the end. Make the demons a bit bigger and harder to kill. More "final boss" like. The symbol of Twilight would be revealed, and it would be a good way to end the game.

Really? Cool, you should post the ideas! Hopefully someone will be seeing this thread eventually. Certain things we say just might stick in someone's mind!
Another side-note. While I agree that the PS3, and the 360 are great systems which have amazing graphical capabilities...I think Buffy should be on the Wii. For the motion sensing, and control alone! A good publisher can push the graphics and take advantage of it, if they know what they are doing. Nintendo themselves seem to have it right with upcoming Smash Bros Brawl. Eventually graphics will be out of the equation, and people will only look for innovative gameplay. Wii has that.
Imagine swinging the nunchuck, Buffy does a left hook on-screen. Thrust the Wiimote forward, Buffy does a right jab on screen. Then quickly swing the nunchuck again, this time like a back-handed punch...and see Buffy do the same motion on screen! I would love this!! To kick you could just hold "A" or "Z" on the nunchuck and use the same motions.
Weapons would be another cool innovation. Imagine seeing Buffy jump around and slice and dice with the Scythe. I want a new game so bad!! LOL

Good for FPS's, simple sword fighting, and boxing; but martial arts? Pfft I'd like to kick thanks hehe.

It's very sensitive, and with effort behind it, the things I suggested will work.
Just like in Wii Sports, Tennis...you can do a backhand swing, or a normal one. That same principal can be applied to punches.

Okay...so great news is that Joss is going to be sent the url for this site! And more importantly be relayed to this particular thread. If he joined up and posted I would die. That was one of my goals in making this place... Anyway back to topic... With the Wiimote and nunchuck attachment there are a total of 6 buttons, one d-pad and a regular analog stick. Also, the minus and plus buttons on the wiimote. Weapons can be assigned to each direction on the d-pad, holding the trigger B button while swinging will cause fighting characters to kick. Without holding it down they'll punch and or swing a weapon. Button A would be to jump. That would work perfectly. The other buttons can control camera, and item/status menus. I personally would like to be able to play as more than one character...preferably have: Buffy, Faith, Xander, Willow, Giles, Dawn can have puzzle/adventure levels, and possibly new slayers as well. Leveling up characters would be great as well.

Ok, first post, here we go.
While a new single player game for any console would be awesome, I've been thinking about a Buffy MMO for some time now. "Chosen" set up a world that could handle an MMO frame where you can have playable classes like Slayers, Witches/Warlocks, Watchers, Good Demons, and possibly some other stuff too. With a persistent online world this could open up a whole new level of story telling, way more than just telling a single story.
I would only be interested in this if Joss were on board and at least worked as an executive producer type roll like he's doing for After the Fall. This could directly tie into season 8 and either tell side stories or even pick it up as it starts to wind down.
I think the biggest problem in this would be balancing Slayers for any kind of PvP or something like that, and convincing guys to play female characters, but that bridge could be crossed later.

Henz, you must not be familiar with how the Wiimote and Nunchuck work then, because you can do more than just fling your arms around. You assume wrong. It's very sensitive, and with effort behind it, the things I suggested will work. Just like in Wii Sports, Tennis...you can do a backhand swing, or a normal one. That same principal can be applied to punches. On Wii Sports Tennis you don't control your movement. A game that required you swing punches whilst controlling walking would be awkward as hell, and a Buffy game where your character moves themselves would be lame. And not to mention there are numerous buttons to press that can kick and jump and do anything you want. Just like on any other controller. There are and they could be used to great effect, but not with the Wii-mote actions you guys suggest. Ok, first post, here we go. Good post. Yeah I posted earlier about A Slayer RPG; I too considered an MMO but I didn't post 'cause I don't like them personally hehe, but it's definately a fitting option. It seems very Joss to me to make an action RPG where you develop your own empowered female character. I'd love to play as my girlfriend lol. You're right however that it may hurt the number of guys playing the game. Leveling up is also a natural transition. Develop your slayer speed and strengths, and probably then start to use magics. The most natural time to set this game would be shortly after the events of Chosen; because obviously it can't be set before, and because I think it's important not to alienate the show fans by making it too involved in season 8. It should have it's own story, but ties into the comic should also be implemented to be more rewarding to the devoted fans. Another thing to consider about MMO's specifically is their cost. The dev would have to be sure that Buffy is a big enough license to sustain constant maintainence.

A Buffy MMO isn't something we should be fighting for, because it won't happen. That would take too much time, energy, and money that companies just don't have for a tv show that's been off the air this long. It also probably wouldn't sell well at all. We should focus on selling the idea of an adventure game, similar to Chaos Bleeds (except with it NOT sucking, hehehe). Not that Chaos Bleeds sucked, so much...it just...umm....needed a lot of tweaking that it didn't get. A good single player RPG in the same vein as the KOTOR games would be awesome. I hate MMO's.
