Awesome! It's gonna be great seeing Harmony again. Jo's cover is amazing and her likeness of Harmony is spot on.

Theory: Harmony's going to die in this issue. No I would cry she might be the last person alive on btvs that has the much needed inappropriate dumbness

Two pages alreday, damn! Am I the only one who is thinking, "Harmony, meh." Jo Chen's cover is amazing tough. Suck likeness. And George's too. And the slayers will be out. We will have a Anita Blake world won't we? Vamps are cuddled and the slayers are "murderers". I strating to feel like one of those people (I used to be one of them); "Buffy in comics? Dawn's a giant? There's an army? Ewww...." Theory: Harmony's going to die in this issue. Perhaps Harmony is famous but Buffy has to slay her because she's killing again, does it in public and BAM, slayers are not welcome...

If Spike can escape Buffy's wrath in Season 4 because he's "harmless," I'm sure that Harmony could do the same thing... she's even more dumb than Spike... and not a very good vamp, either.
In any event, Harmony is awesome. One of my favorite episodes of Angel is Harm's Way.... it was A LOT of Harmony, and that's always a good thing. Although the way they did that episode seemed a lot like a backdoor pilot to a spin-off. I know it wasn't, but it just seemed that way because out of nowhere she was the center of an entire episode instead of the main cast. It was kind of out of place.... but still amazing.

I think Harmony has become very essential to the buffyverse. She's just that type of character that pops up every so often and I squeel with delight b/c you know if it's focused on her it's going to be fun, silly, and laughable.
I hope her giving up the goose isn't going to be played out too heavily. It wouldn't be right for Harmony to be the one to do that. They would need a new vampire, one with anti christ type characteristics for that to play out right.
I would LOVE to see that ENID type girl from Tales of the Vampires to pop up again. I thought she was really cool.

Ok, YES to the person who asked if anyone else gets a little buzz when they see a new cover. This one was no exception. Harmony is hands down one of the funniest characters in buffy and angel. She is so ditzy but she's hilarious & entertaining! I think the only other character that has made me laugh out loud as many times as Harm is Anya. So yeah, I LOVE her character and think with espenson writing it should be very funny!
I don't know what the moaning and groaning is about either. You may not think she's funny or a good character, but she's been around for a long time and deserves to have her story continued. Having one issue's spotlight on her is not too much. How will we ever get deeper into her character and story if she's always a supporting role?! Yes, she's a very a very fluffy and light character but there have been times where she's shown depth and that there is more to her. So, while I know and want the issue to be funny, it would be cool if they developed her character some more too.
It seems like a lot of season 8 readers want them to stop bringing 'old' characters back. Why would it seem better to you to introduce more new characters in the comic form instead of bringing ones back from the show to round out their stories?? B/c Harmonys story was definitely left way up in the air on buffy. Same goes for Drusilla.
The five stand alone issue thing is cool. It's more exciting than a long arc. Since we already know we're getting one for harmony, one for kennedy and one for Satsu..I hope the final two are Drusilla and...Wood. We need a cover of Robin Wood-preferably with him looking sexy via "Lies My parents told me" (tank top, leather gloves, arm weaponry--So sexy!)

Why would it seem better to you to introduce more new characters in the comic form instead of bringing ones back from the show to continue and round out their stories?? Well for me, it's that I'm tired of a lot of old characters. I enjoy the new one's much more. Renee, Satsu, the chain-Buffy & Twilight are wonderful fun, compared to Warren & Andrew. And if Ethan hadn't died, I would have disliked his return too. I'm looking forward to see Harmony be a ditz, but I'm tired of her as a character. But you can't please everyone. I bet a lot of people are going "Eww, Dawn/Satsu/Kennedy" while I'm happy to have them. It's just a matter of taste.

I know Joss doesn't want spin offs but I think the comic book medium is perfect for this. Even if they is just small 4 issue CANONized arcs it would still work. There are so many characters and so many awesome stories to tell...

The difference is that Joss already has a lot more on his plate than the people behind the Angel comics. He doesn't have the time or likely the energy to run everything he's got going on AND some spinoffs. I personally don't want Buffy spinoffs, I'd prefer he focus on Season 8. :-) Which is rocking, by the way. I meant he can authorize or plot a story then throw the reigns over to one of the old writers. It's not like he was on set for much of season six or seven. But in saying that I'm not DESPERATE for a spin off. But it would be nice to have something that works as a quality companion piece to season 8. Also, while I'm on this kick. Marvel just put out Dark Tower compendium issue for it's lore on characters, places and happenings. It's really neat. It would be cool if Dark Horse or a publisher did something like this for Buffy. An Illustrated Buffypedia, if you will.

Hey I just read that on Wikipedia: "Harmony holds the distinction of being the only character to appear in both the Buffy unaired pilot and the Angel series finale". She was there right from the beginning through the very end.

I bet a lot of people are going "Eww, Dawn/Satsu/Kennedy" while I'm happy to have them. It's just a matter of taste. I'm with you on being disappointed at Warren's return but that has to do with the retcon and that I never liked him. Andrew returning wasn't really a return as he never left and we knew he was working with Buffy because of his appearance in Damage on AtS. Ethan - I might have been annoyed if he had stuck around, but we don't have to worry about that. Everyone else I welcome to the comics because they are a part of the Buffyverse and while I might not want them to join the main story, it's perfectly alright for them to pop up every now and then. That's the modus operandi for Drusilla and Harmony - they show up, annoy Buffy and then run away. Kennedy I see as part of Willow's current story so I welcomed her back, especially since the comics somehow made her likeable compared to the tv series. Dracula coming back was amazing because he was actually a menace compared to his dopey portrayal on the tv series. I'm WAY more excited for Harmony's return than I am for Satsu's. Never got into her story and she's no where near as deeply developed as Harmony. Harmony deep?.... huh....but it's true because of her history in the Buffyverse. She's been there since episode 1 so I feel like she's earned her spot. Of all the new characters, I like Twilight and Renee the best. Twilight for the mystery surrounding him and Renee for her wonderful build-up with Xander and then her poignant bravery during the first panel of Issue 15. If there's limited space on this comic world stage, I say yes to old characters coming back over new and underdeveloped characters.
